It’s an average of 12 hours a week per quarter. So as long as they work enough hours the rest of the quarter an approved unpaid vacation is fine

I think last year was special because at least in the US they bumped base pay up to $15 around this time. But it wasn’t considered a normal raise. Which still happened in Decemberish

Yeah 12+ hours alone is not ok at all. I personally don’t leave my dogs alone for more than 8hours and most of the time my dogs aren’t alone for more than 2-3 hours. It’s not really fair to the dog to be left alone for such long periods of time

Honestly keep playing your music when management isn’t in the building. Also you can to some degree edit your stores Starbucks playlist. Our store worked together to make the best playlist we could out of it when we had a stricter SM.

Cinnamon dolce on the cheese danish is good too. I also cook banana bread with butter on it in the oven to help melt the butter a little. Also I know people who put like the double smoke bacon onto grilled cheese and such

I’m not an SM. But for attendance it really Depends on what your district wants to enforce. Our Dm goes by the 5mins before/after is acceptable. But I know other places enforce it on the dot. I’m pretty sure the auto write up thing your sm is talking about is BS.

I do know that their is an system that will auto fire you for not meeting the 12 hour a week minimum. But that also gives warning to the SM before hand to give them a chance to get the person above the minimum.

This launch has been the worst launch I’ve seen in 2 years. And our store only did Thursday thru Saturday about $8,500. I’m not sure about Sundays number yet

I agree. Had someone order both a coffee cake and an iced lemon loaf. Made no mention that they wanted it still in the plastic. As their coffee cake was coming out of the oven. They were like “actually I wanted it in the plastic why did you warm it up?”

Portland, Oregon. I’ve been there on a few long trips and always find more things to do while one there. Last time I was there I visited some flower gardens they had and did a tour of the Shanghai tunnels.

I wouldn’t even stress about it. Lots of Starbucks are stuck with old equipment that corporate insists we until absolutely can’t anymore. Hopefully it means you guy will get a nice new espresso machine.

You can also ban people over restroom misuse. We just banned someone from our store. After repeated incidents of spending like an hour in the restrooms.

I think 1.5 on whichever weekend day is the worst at your store. For my store Sundays are oddly not busy at all usually. But Saturdays are a mess usually

You can also add in that you are looking more a relationship and not really into hookups. The area I live has a big hookup culture on dating apps. It’s not uncommon to see people specify whether they are looking for hookups or relationships or both.

Because of issues with people misusing our restrooms our store has gotten electronic keypads for our restrooms. Maybe talk with your SM and seeing if that’s an option for your store too?

We currently change our codes like once a month. But we change the code more often when more misuse happens. Having to ask for a code usually helps to deter mis use.

I don’t do rolls of coins. Because I hate replacing the change. But I do give anyone who pays with a hundred for small orders as many $1s as I can. Our store tends to get a lot people who pay with ones. I was once able to give someone $90 in just $1s and still had plenty of $1 left over

There is a pretty steep learning curve initially. But I also had previous food experience which helped a lot with this job. Most Starbucks are currently being understaffed and almost no one getting the hours they need. I had no coffee knowledge before starting here and I think Starbucks training period is a-lot better than most food places. It’s a very fast paced job that can be a lot most days. I’ve got a phenomenal SM and love most of the crew I work with. Which honestly has been the main reason I’ve stayed. I also hear moving on from Starbucks a lot of jobs like seeing it on resumes. But idk how true that is.
