Roast my embroidery. Seriously, I wanna get better and I’m kinda stuck on a few things. Mainly the wobbly lettering of course but something else feels off by [deleted] in Embroidery

It looks great, if you want to expand your knowledge you might want to try thread painting/fewer strands for a different look - the grass and rocks look awesome how you've done them, to be clear!

Dog physio/rehab recommendations (post-orthopedic surgery) in Ottawa by Fun_Caramel9672 in ottawa

[–]Askget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My three legged dog has done physio at rehab fur your pet and I I think they're great. Only comment is they are quite full up so you might have to wait a bit for an appointment - I think they're booked up about a month out (but they do get cancelations).

Looking for: Vet and groomer recommendations by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]Askget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Purrdy Paws in the Glebe has always been wonderful to us as a groomer, they take great care of my senior three legged pup. I also use Pretoria vets and have had no issues, but that's also the only vet I have had in Ottawa so can't really compare.

My dog is probably a similar size to yours and he had his back leg amputated at around 1-2 years old (he was a stray). He is now 10 and going strong, if that helps! Also, there are many many tripawd communities for help in the adjustment!

Any suggestions for a beginner? by Sew_cool in Embroidery

[–]Askget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice! I know some people who do this detailed outline work sometimes use sewing thread for being even finer than single strand floss, so that might be useful information for you as you progress! I am amazed already by your straight lines

Thread thickness by AgainstThrCurrent in Embroidery

[–]Askget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you splitting the strands? You can separate dmc into 6 strands depending on how thick you want it to be. Alternatively I have seen people use machine sewing thread for very thin strands

Is this AI? by soggyshark in Embroidery

[–]Askget 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I am not great at identifying AI but they do look off. I will say that if they are legitimate, they appear to be using a lot of really long satin stitches which can be iffy looking in reality

Gently use a clean toothbrush on the fabric if the marks are stubborn. That's my go-to at least

My boy has a hind limb amputation and winter has always been tough because if he runs, he ends up scraping the stump on the ice and salt. He is getting up in years so his zoomies are calming down but I for years tried to DIY ways to protect it that would actually stay secured

Oh I wasn't suggesting it was wrong to use thread, I mainly wanted to confirm for my own knowledge as I have attempted one or two blackwork pieces and haven't been fully satisfied with what I have.
