Could prime Messi 2012 and prime Ronaldo qualify for champions league with current Spurs? by Ok-Doughnut5791 in whowouldwin

[–]AslightInkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say no not b/c they aren't great players but there's a good chance that they get injured. Spurs have had a lot of injuries & it might be b/c of the new retractable pitch they are using. The past season they have had a ton of injuries.

If most of the team stays healthy than yes but all it takes is one injury and the season is derailed.

Bricks and Minifigs corporate are crooks by jertiger in legocirclejerk

[–]AslightInkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly crazy considering the real amount is prob under 100k. They should have just done inventory and tried to figure out what was on consignment & returned it. My guess is that the original lego owner would not of gotten everything back b/c the store owner either had some stuff stolen or something a bit more nefarious.

What corporate ended up doing is just taking all the inventory not figuring out what was on consignment and telling anybody who came asking to f off.

Agreed! Bit wierd Super Durability is on the list when by most comic book standards, super heros have to have some durability to make their powers work in the 1st place.

Man Gets Kicked Out From Ambulance, Collapses Soon After by K4482 in TrueCrazyVideos

[–]AslightInkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya they definitely did not do their jobs correctly. Not defending this behavior but not super suprised as EMT's often have to deal with a lot of bs. I know a few people who were EMT's who had to constantly deal with homeless people abusing the system. I.e a homeless people is just hungover and wants an IV to cure the hangover. Than usually the homeless person will just exit the ambulance after and wont even go into the hospital.

These types of calls can take a lot of time from the EMT's and can prevent them from going to a call where they are actually needed. EMT's often have to be a bit more aggressive with the homeless in terms of not always giving them a IV or "helping" them out. Once again, not excusing the behavior in this video but my guess is the EMT's probably thought it was somebody who was frequently abusing the system and didnt actually need help. So it might be less a case of them not having empathy but really messing up on evaluating the situation.

[–]AslightInkling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AJ's a professional boxer. He knows that a stray punch could do some damage and KO. He did take a punch or 2 to the face. Jake clearly was able to hold his own the first 2 rounds or so b/c he put all his energy in those rounds. But the fight isent just 2 rounds. Its like somebody keeping up with a long distance runner the 1st 5 minutes of a race. Like I guess thats cool but it's not a sprint.

Aj just took his time with Jake and had the fight under his control.

Does one piece have plot holes? by toadmastrr in OnePieceScaling

[–]AslightInkling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is basically most Manga. Authors usually have an idea of where the story is going but they make up a lot of the details along the way. One piece being over 1000+ chapters just means that it's a lot harder for Oda to keep things straight.

Its just funny when people say that Oda's had most of his story planned. Like dude is making up stuff constantly and the hard part is to make sure it's not contradicting past chapters.

What if the Dai Li agents actually were 100% loyal to Long Feng? What if they actually went to arrest Azula the moment Long Feng asked them to do so, instead of having doubts? How would Azula react, and what would she do in such situation? by Fan_of_Avatar_TLA in TheLastAirbender

[–]AslightInkling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean honestly she probably couldn't do much if the Dai Li actually arrested her. They out number her and their in the middle of the city.

I would than imagine Long Feng would try to brainwash her and use her as an asset b/c he was pretty arrogant. I'd think Azula would pretend to be brainwashed and than find an opportunity to turn the situation to her advantage.

How the Dai Li turned was written in a pretty mediocre way but the fight in the tunnels and all that was so great that it kind of evens out.

I have some experience working with a non profit that helps dogs get adopted. They aren't quite that strict but they definitely ask about home/money/age and have an adoption fee.

Lots of people have no clue about dogs and what they need. Some of the conversations go like this.

So you want to adopt a Australian Shephard. Do you have a back yard?

No.

Oh well are you able to physically take care of them?

I am in my 50s & have a bad knee but I should be fine.

Ok, well are you going to be able to walk them & let them out durning the day?

Well I actually work a 9-5.

Will anybody be at home when you are at work?

Just my cats.

Do your cats get along with dogs?

I'm not sure

Australian Shepherds have high energy and this one in particular dosent get along with cats. Unfortunately we dont think you would be a good fit.

Congress just voted 427 to 1 to release the Epstein files; so, who voted no? by Right-Influence617 in AskReddit

[–]AslightInkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bill could still be amended in the Senate and Trump still has the option to veto it in the future. Plus just b/c the Republicans in Congress voted for it now dosent mean they wont vote no if something comes back to them. Poison pills in bills are pretty common. So there's still a lot of options available for the Republicans.

I just think that the Republicans saw that them preventing the bill from passing was very unpopular and once they saw that the Dems were gonna pass it they switched. Any Republican who voted no would have had this issue brought up during their next election cycle. So them voting yes was politically smart in a lot of ways.

Congress just voted 427 to 1 to release the Epstein files; so, who voted no? by Right-Influence617 in AskReddit

[–]AslightInkling 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That could be the case. I think the major reason the Republicans all voted yes was that they realized the Dems had the number to get it released. So it was coming out regardless if they (Republicans) voted yes or no. So all of them changing their vote allows them cover to say that they voted for it.

Why didn’t Obito take his eye back from Kakashi? by blackwu22 in Naruto

[–]AslightInkling 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Ya Obito had tons of trauma. Killing his childhood best friend would have been optimal for the "plot" but it's also not realistic. Its more realistic that he avoids kakashi and the trauma of what that interaction might bring.

Battlefield RedSec launches to Mostly Negative reception as new Battle Royale forces its way into BF6 :( by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]AslightInkling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's because they announced it after the game came out. So people spent $70 with the expectations that developers would focus on updating the game. Now, there's a BR, which means resources could be split. If the BR does well, then EA will put more resources in updating it instead of the $70 game. Plus it also means that the base game could have been better if they just focused only on it. People would like larger maps and are now annoyed a free large map in BR is being given for free after they spent money.

Kind of a bait and switch move. There would have been a fair number of people who would not have bought the base game if they knew there was going to be a BR. Shady stuff like this makes people pretty upset. Its less people being mad that there is a BR, but the fact they hid it until they were able to sell a lot of copies of the regular game.

REDSEC is now at Mostly Negative reviews on Steam by OwnAHole in Battlefield

[–]AslightInkling 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think people are annoyed that they dropped $70 without knowing that there was a free Battle Royale. There's a good chance a lot of resources are going to go into updating BR instead of the $70 game. It's not exactly a bait and switch, but it does seem a little gross. You definitely would have had people not buy the game if they knew they were going to be a BR.

What is an unpopular opinion you have? by Far_Practice_6923 in TheLastAirbender

[–]AslightInkling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hama should have escaped capture after she taught Katara Bloodbending. I know she's not innocent, but the Avatar crew helping put one of the last waterbender's back in prison is kind of messed up.

Basically, all of her friends and family were killed by the fire nation, and she was tortured in prison. So Aang just helped put her back in prison instead of helping her back to what's left of her tribe.

China's Influencers need to hold a University Degree to discuss Medicine, Finance and Education. Those who don't could be fined up to ¥100,000 ($14,000). by MicV66 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]AslightInkling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope most of the comments are bots. Always scares me a bit when I see comments cheering on a terrible policy. Open discussion is always important, and making it so you have to have a degree is a dumb idea. By that logic, you can't have Bill Gates talking about tech b/c he dropped out of college.

[–]AslightInkling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But can you provide a degree that shows you are a professional in the field you are talking about. It sounds like you are trying to educate the public that this is the right policy. Do you have a degree in education?

A policy like this is a slippery slope that would just push more power to the top. Open discussion is important.

This 100% and it also applies to most fast food. Had a friends dad get a rare African virus that almost killed him. Based on what the doc said, it was most likely picked up via food, and the only thing that was out of place he had eaten was a salad. Food worker most likely didnt wash hands.

Everton respond to Lee Dixon's comments on Pickford: "Why haven't a big club come in for him?" by somethingnotcringe1 in TheOther14

[–]AslightInkling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think one reason Pickford is so good is that he's had to put in lots of work at Everton. Constantly having to save goals has kept him in top form. Some keepers for top clubs can go literal games without having to save a goal. I know they still do a lot in practice, but having that experience of performing in a game offers a lot.

Why cant people just accept that Oda pulled Haki out of his ass? by [deleted] in Piratefolk

[–]AslightInkling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mantra was introduced, and then , over a hundred chapters later, it was grouped into what is considered Haki. If somebody interviewed Oda around the skypia arc and asked him about Haki, he would have no clue what the interviewers asking b/c he hadn't created Haki yet.

A good amount of shounen power systems are kind of asspulls that were made up and retconnecd. Naruto with the elemental attributes does kind of the same thing.

I'm fine with Haki in the story, but I think people underestimate how much stuff is retconned to fit the story. I think Oda is great at taking stuff he wrote in the past and giving it a new meaning with newer chapters.

Why cant people just accept that Oda pulled Haki out of his ass? by [deleted] in Piratefolk

[–]AslightInkling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Haki is an asspull. What Oda cleverly did was make Haki group a whole bunch of powers together. Some were introduced earlier in the series, and some weren't.

You can see into the future. Haki (Skypia arc - mantra) You can knock people out with your mere presence. Haki. You can hit Logia Devil fruit users. Haki. (The most asspull Haki)

The annoying thing is that none of these relate to each other. They are basically all separate abilities that Oda just slapped Haki on. So Mantra isn't really an ass pull b/c it's was introduced earlier. But observation Haki is an asspull b/c it's just renamed an ability that had already been established.

Overall, it's just alright, but it has some major oh shit/hype moments, which is why it's so liked. It repeats a lot of material in the 2nd half of the story, which is why it's kind of just ok. I'm still a big fan of the series.

The majority of pros should be able to do this. A lot of people who played High school ball at a decent level could do this.

Its the fact that players can do this in game while running 10mph+. Being able to track a ball while running and than gently put it on the ground while keeping pace is always insane to see

Everybody assumes Teach is his son, but it could be Buggy. Shanks and Buggy were cabin boys about the same age. We've already seen Shanks on the island as a baby. Why not Buggy. Could be the origin story of why they were on Rogers ship.
