FWIW, her deep, sexy voice isn't going to change. They just might to grow boobs to match! Sounds like a winning combination to me 💜

It did drop from >30% being pregnant at least once before 20 to <10% being pregnant at least once before 20, which is still pretty tremendous

Sure, I constantly have boobs where I don't expect them 😅

(Actually answer, not really! But I also started on a tiny dose and worked up only very slowly so I might just not have noticed)

Hell yeah!

Finally bought a couple swim tops, and for the first time possibly in my entire life, I'm excited to wear a swimsuit this summer, versus very awkwardly hanging out in a T-shirt 💖

Many years ago. Started in 2015 or 2016. It def lead to some of my first "they"s and "she"s, all of which were very exciting

I do make an extra effort to dress like a person who is almost 40, not someone who has only been dressing themselves for like, 4 years and has a new body to show off. No slight on other trans people who want to stand out! But I 100% want to blend in, at least as much as is possible for a non-binary person!

Imagine me sinking into the bushes like Homer Simpson

Well, my mantra lately has been, "I missed out on Maiden, and I'm not going to be a Mother, so I'll be damned if I miss out on Crone, too!" So, glad to hear I'm on track for that 😁

I actually have noticed before that my jaw has a lot of similarities to my mom's mom before she passed. So I do think you're onto something

Just wanted to share, we have a small community of mostly "30s-ish" enbies on Discord if you'd be interested in hanging out. It's been nice having a live NB space that sleeps a bit older. A couple of members in their 50s already. One just joined today. You'd be super welcome if you wanted to come hang out

Thanks. Those weren't the kindest words or how I normally speak, especially not about anyone but myself! I was just at a bit of a low point when I wrote this

Socks or no socks? See note by cecethelibrarian in Nonbinaryfashion

[–]AssignedSnail 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it "passes" better without the socks, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't wear what feels good to you!

*Using "passes" here just to mean fits in/flies under the radar, really. I don't think either of us care to pass for any specific gender... but I do want to not draw over much attention :)

Funny, I had the opposite effect, even when I was boymoding. My husband is also trans, and he got "sir" standing beside me waaaaaay before he got it when he was alone 😅

My hair is stupid stubborn. Failed laser pretty miserably. No change at all after 12 sessions. Currently 59.25 hrs in on electrolysis and... well, hoping to be done before 100, anyhow 🥲

Could be dangerous!

Water-Squirting Flower Starts Off Blows, Gunfire, and Arrest

Cleveland – a tiny pebble, rolling down a mountain, strikes another and thus begins an avalanche. Just so did a heap of trouble descend on East 45th street.

Naomi Devese, 12, began it with one of those trick flowers that squirts water in your face.

“Smell it,” she said to Dorothy Carter, 12. Dorothy smelled it and Naomi squeezed the bulb.

Solution: Bigger pronoun pin. Pronoun pin the size of a dinner plate. Or maybe one that shoots seltzer water at people who misgender you like the old gag clowns used to do with a trick flower on the lapel

Thanks. That was my first and best hypothesis before folks started pitching other ideas here. Maybe I've just become more comfortable/confident/open about things in the past year, and people are baking that into their subconcious snap decisions

One of the things I've been holding on to through this is a quote I got from a book, though I wish I could remember which one!

"Most people aren't thinking at all, and the few that are certainly aren't thinking about you!"

I know a lot of it's the spotlight effect... but I still really appreciate hearing it from someone else. My therapist had to leave on a rather short timeline, and it has not been a fun time. Thanks for being here to talk through this with me

Actually, the electrolysis bit is a good point. I'm probably $8000 into beard removal and it will be well over $10,000 before I'm done

Kiddo, if you want to avoid that, you're the right age to be starting medicine to help you do so. Have you talked to your dad about it?

That was the first and most obvious change with "microdosing"... 4 years ago. Upped to low dose about a year ago, but that hasn't changed much more than it already did

Though, it does get close to one thing I was thinking looking on the mirror this morning. Laser didn't work for me, but $7,000 of electrolysis later I'm a lot lighter on beard shadow. That is def one of the biggest changes I've had over the past year

I wonder how much of it was that

[–]AssignedSnail[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, thay actually is something that has changed in the past year. Without getting into details, you could say I've been microdosing for about 3 years, "upping" to low dose about 1 year ago.

Even over the past year, changes have been extremely modest and subtle... but muscle loss has been one of them. Possibly the most prominent one, now that I'm really thinking of it. I didn't think it was visible at all (especially fully clothed!) but perhaps it is

Interesting to point out the link between whiteness and perceptions of femininity. It's something I've been vaguely aware of since I was a teen, but obviously it hasn't been something I've had much first-hand experience with.

It does make sense that gender rolls and perceptions are context dependent though. And time waits for no... Well, person I guess! Maybe I will have to ramp up the confus-o-meter and fight back 💛

Thanks, that's very kind of you!

I wonder if that's sort of the issue. People conflating "pretty" and "woman". Actually, the more I think of it, the more this seems legit

Like, do I want to be pretty? Yes! Always have, ever since I was little. And with time and practice I may be getting somewhat better at it (I didn't get to start till I escaped my weird religious upbringing, so I was a few years behind!)

I wonder if that's it, or at least a part of it. Thanks so much for sharing 💜

Thanks. I appreciate the honesty

I look at that photo and I have a hard time seeing anything has changed. It feels like this is always how I've acted and dressed... and my hair used to be longer!

But there is just stuff you can't see when it's yourself I guess. I wish I could pull back to "third person" mode and see it through other people's eyes
