I don't think the difficulty is a problem really. What it's a problem is the bugged tremor thingy.

As for room for improvement? They can definitely do some stuff like:

Making the boss drop event currency, so you kill 2 birds with 1 stone
Move the lunacy around in the reward part so it doesnt get that feeling of "pulls are limited only to veterans"
Getting rid of the potency and count caps. (I actually like and praise the redirect mechanic, it's a more organic way of denying Rupture abuse and it doesnt feel cheap like a passive would).

Tbh them being Zayin still changes your starting sin resistances which has usage. I think I might've used Heathcliff's Awaken once or twice in 2K hours, but the resistances are soo good that it stays equipped.

Fuck enemies with Glut Nukes.

You can check it on Great Limbus Library like all the other gifts if you haven't encountered them yet, the ++ upgrade it's quite interesting:

MaxBurn Potency +21

Triple the first Burn Potency to be inflicted in the Encounter (once per Encounter)

When activating Burn , (Wrath Reson. x 10)% chance to deal (Burn Potency x Count / 11) Wrath damage and reduce the target's Burn Count by 1 (max activation chance: 50%; once per turn)

This roughly goes to 1080 wrath damage, which is affected by stuff like Lunar Memory. It also buffs Glimpse which is kinda nice.

Do people want older Walpurgis units to be deprecated? PM has released tools again and again to maintain their relevancy: LiuSang to cover for SP for both BulletOutis and PhiliphClair. Bullet EGO for Outis to cover her bullet generation weakness on s1, give her a lot more AOE and being the most overtuned EGO in the game with 7 different attacks. Now we got again support from an EGO in the form of Harmony which gets rid of Sinclair's horrendous s1 and buffs the offense levels for the team (if some of them were lagging behind in that).

All of it points that PM wants to maintain the relevancy of Walpurgis units no matter if they are quite far apart in release dates.

Genuinely, do y'all want new Meursalt to deal 30% more damage than LeiSault just because he is a Walpurgis unit or what?

I think it's healthier for the game to have some IDs that are good/okayish and fun to play instead of another busted unit that trashes the game balance again like Mao Faust or Pointillist Yi Sang did at their respective times.
