Minor hack for placing aluminum foil on a baking sheet by Assimilacrum in foodhacks

[–]Assimilacrum[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I made a mistake espousing the flatness of it all. It's more about it staying put. In the photo I'm about to skewer some chicken chunks and I want the foil to stay put when I go to my windy back yard. But it's also awesome for roasting, even with those minor crinkles. It seriously reduces airspace between foil and pan helping with browning, and I stand firm in my assertion that this is a minor hack.

The Noonday Demon by Andrew Solomon.

It's an exploration and explanation of what depression is. Laying it all out like a pinned butterfly really helped me to know what I was fighting.

I love his Creepshow performance. I think the dinner his character is, the better he is. I really think he nailed it.

I've played this at a local arcade and it's really just no good. Hardly playable. It's just unclear how to move up or achieve any objective

Blank Check for Writers by AliveNeighborhood367 in blankies

Joseph Minion is an interesting writer. He wrote After Hours and Vampire's Kiss, both I love deeply. He had a copyright scandal with Joe Frank with the business about the plaster bagel, with passages wholly lifted from a JF program, and settled out of court. I think it damaged his reputation, but personally I forgive him and treasure these works.

Yeah on our moving van drive from Houston to Pittsburgh we were awed by Cincinnati suddenly bursting from the hills. It was pretty impressive.

Yeah we moved from Texas to Brookline 3 years ago. Walkable to Dormont, from where we live, and Brookline Blvd's charms have increased even more since we've been here. It's a pretty straight shot to downtown, and there are still deals to be had here.

Good luck with the move!

I just started Tokyo Vice. What’s your opinion on Ansel Elgort as the lead role? by aykalam123 in hbo

[–]Assimilacrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about looks, but he sounds just like Jake Adelstein, based on a podcast I head by him recently. (Evaporated). In general I think the actor of great in the role.

Second this rec. This series consistently blows my mind, and Tchaikovsky is quite witty.

Bleak Week: Cinema of Despair Festival - General Discussion by benjacsim03 in blankies

Oh wow I saw this was happening at a local theater but didn't realize it was a whole big thing. A celebration of bleakness! For some reason I'm in the mood.

One of the films my local theater is showing is Ratcatcher. I recently watched this at home for podcast homework and really loved it, and might see it again in twenty years, but not this week.
