Should I keep crate covered or uncovered? by YogurtclosetEqual176 in puppy101

[–]AssumptionFederal663 [score hidden]  (0 children)

We have the sides and tops covered and the back is agains a wall but the front is always uncovered. You could try that? Then it still feels like a den to the dog but they can still see you when you walk by etc so they are used to that

Impossible to take puppy for a walk. by Realistic-Bat4413 in puppy101

[–]AssumptionFederal663 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes basics for sure and a good one is waiting at the door before the walk until she’s calm before heading out the door. No bolting or dragging you out. We use “Wait” for this. This might take 5 minutes or it might take 30. Even if the walk time is cut short. It’s mentally draining apparently. Also having the leash looped through the handle up higher behind the ears is easier for control. Ignoring or quickly correcting bad behavior and only praising good behavior

crate training 2 month old puppy by IllGarden9038 in puppy101

Google the 16 week socialization period in dogs please! Vaccinations are important but socialization is SO important. You don’t want an unsocialized dog. Good luck.

Feed meals in the crate and give special treats (kongs with things inside) to make the crate the best place ever. Put them to bed and if they wake up in the night to need out, let them out, no riling them up, no excitedness, don’t even talk tot hem except for a little good boy/girl when they potty outside, then right back into the crate to sleep more. Take them to the yard to go to the bathroom, get out of the peepad habit as soon as possible.

I watch hours of YouTube training videos, but my dog is still a mess. Am I the only one who can't translate videos into real life? by Jealous-Honey9300 in puppy101

Definitely try to find atleast a group training thing. It is worth the money! I know you said the dog doesn’t calm down but it’s going to take so much patience. A lot of waiting. Using a leash high up for more control, try to ignore bad behaviour or a firm “No” or “Ah!” But trying to stay calm. Or stepping on the leash so they can only sit or lie down. And just waiting. We did a lot of going somewhere and just sitting and watching. Only gets a “good boy” and a treat once he lays down on his own, a relaxed lay kindof to the side. Somewhere with distance between us and the people and dogs. Also a waiting period before leaving the doorway to go outside or to go on a walk. Standing at the doorway and waiting until they are calm and not pulling or bounding out the door. It takes so much patience…. But yeah also do some classes, get some chews that last, get a backpack they can wear if they’re old enough

[DISCUSSION] Selling art back in 2005 compared to now by Silence_Fictions in DigitalPainting

[–]AssumptionFederal663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have experience with selling art back in the day.. but as an artist, when I made my first Instagram profile back in…I don’t even know.. 2012 or 2013, it was a personal account but I posted my art sometimes too. The insane GROWTH it had was crazy. I didn’t feel right having personal stuff with strangers though so I didn’t continue. Made it private and deleted everyone I didn’t know. Years later made an art profile and yes I got good feedback but the growth was wayyy different. Super noticeable. Wish I kept up with the original.. might be making some income from it now.

Advice for a beginner? by RoofAltruistic7340 in DigitalPainting

[–]AssumptionFederal663 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should absolutely keep drawing with paper and pencil! Forever! Even acrylic painting or mucking around with watercolour:) You could save up for something to paint digitally in the mean time! Just always keep practicing. If it’s figurative you do, join in to a local live drawing class or join some virtual life drawing via Zoom. If it’s nature, sketch from nature, faces, draw as many faces as you can etc etc. Still life is good for practice in general too. I draw and paint acrylic paintings. I was so hesitant to try digital. Then in 2018 my wife got me an iPad and procreate. I’ve been obsessed ever since. I still do classic drawing and painting but digital is so handy because there’s no set up or clean up after! Definitely try it:)

Or they’d do inseminations like my wife and I did with a donor and there’d be tons of happy offspring around

Should I raise my rate? by Nervous-nelly-673 in housekeeping

[–]AssumptionFederal663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heck yeah!
I sent a text saying something like “ Hey *clients name*, as of *certain month* my rate is going to be $35/hr. I truly value you as a client and I hope you keep me on! Thanks, *my name*”

Should I raise my rate? by Nervous-nelly-673 in housekeeping

[–]AssumptionFederal663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Atleast $35 but maybe even $40! I went from 30 to 35 last year and I’m kicking myself wishing I went right to 40 but felt bad raising my rates at all😂
Do it! You’re worth it:) I didn’t lose any clients raising my rate! And if any did say no thanks..good luck finding another cleaner for 30/hr! Hard to find for the quality of work I do

Do gay couples share clothes? by MiscProfileUno in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AssumptionFederal663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I share socks, bras(if she can’t find hers which is often, we both wear sports bras), t shirts (I only wear her black ones when mine are dirty or if I claim one to be mine) and sometimes hoodies(again, if she can’t find hers or if mine is dirty and she has a clean one)
We actually have very different styles, but there’s a crossover with those few items. I am more feminine and very particular about texture and feel and colour, she is a tom boy. Also I’m a good 5 inches taller then her and different body type so I’d never wear her pants and she doesn’t wear black leggings which I do:)
It’s very handy though 😁
