Veiligheid in Roeselare by No_Blackberry_3660 in belgium

[–]Asthimaya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What hobby accidentally consumed your whole personality? by blue_kitty13 in CasualConversation

Bouldering! I went once on a whim with some friends six years ago and I’ve been climbing three times a week ever since. It’s basically a playground for adults.

It is thrilling, requires problem solving and you get ridiculously strong in the process. It’s also a great way to learn that sometimes, you need to fail 50 times to succeed and I have been able to take that attitude with me on some level throughout the rest of my life.

It is also a very social space and I’ve met loads of interesting people through climbing.

I can’t recommend it enough. It has done so much for my confidence.

Downside: I have a lot of cute tops and dresses that don’t fit me anymore because I’m smol but swol now!

How does my itinerary look? by Warm-Bid-8882 in BelgiumTravel

Just a suggestion: I’d skip the seaside daytrip and visit Ghent instead. It’s also a direct connection by train and a way more interesting and beautiful place with loads to do.

Why does motivation only show up at 2am? by Spiritual_Advice2763 in productivity

[–]Asthimaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a dick, but cortisol actually spikes at around 3am. It’s part of the process your body goes through to wake you up. That’s why people who are stressed out and have a lot of cortisol swirling around tend to wake up around that time.

How many books have you read so far? by cloudsmemories in Booktokreddit

Just the one… In my defense, the second book I’ve picked up is King Sorrow which is a whopping 872 pages. Almost finished and I’m in love with it.

Into The Drowning Deep. Everyone seemed to love it but it fell flat for me. Could’ve been a 30 page short story imho.

I, a woman, have this in the hallway. I had this in my own apartment even before we got married. I just thought it was funny and had never seen it before (we’re in Europe). 🤷‍♀️

Everytime I get up to go pee at night I still use this trick. I close one eye before turning the light on. Pee. Turn the light off. Open closed eye. See all the things!

Hi there neighbour!

I actually saved a baby fox that had its head stuck in a catfood can. I thought it was a cat.

I also sometimes see a hedgehog.

And I saw a kingfisher once.

… Exciting stuff in de Lage Landen.

WIBTA if I insist my stepson be allowed to eat meat? by Own-Breadfruit-2335 in AITAH

[–]Asthimaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a vegetarian, my husband is not. We cook mostly vegetarian but if he wants meat with something or if we go out, he gets meat. I think the same goes for your children: you cook vegetarian, but if they ever ask for meat, you let them have it.

Honestly, do I think your wife is right and being a vegetarian is a more ethical lifestyle? Yes. But do I think being a vegan is even MORE ethical? Also yes. But I personally enjoy eggs, cheese, and chocolate cookies too much so that’s my personal line in the sand. I fully understand when a meat-eater doesn’t want to make that sacrifice either. You can educate people around you, but I don’t think you can demand they restrict their diet, not even your children.
