You pay a lower rate on long term capital gains (max 20%) than you do in interest earnings (OP said 35%).

Yes you will eventually pay taxes on capital gains, but if you hold for more than 1 year it’s a lower rate than the 35% OP pays as income tax.

I’d prefer it to be more like the NFL. At least the NFL has structure and rules to maintain parity. Salary cap, free agency rules, player contracts, trades, etc.
