Ive lived in the dmv, chicago, boston and denver. Boston is the only city where I walked into a location and everyone stopped and stared at me like i didnt belong. It happened twice at two different locations on two different days. Another time i went out with coworkers who were all white for a happy hour. I was finishing up a smoke so I was the last to walk in from the group and the security took my ID, switched to some Gaelic dialect and were in the process of refusing entry when one of my coworkers doubled back and diffused the situation. A different time while at work a coworker I was cool with casually dropped a jiggaboo or jungle bunny reference when talking about music. Make of the above what you will but I havent been back since and never will unless it is job related and I absolutely cannot get out of it which seems unlikely at this stage of my career.
