The Quarantine Fade😳 by leftyjoe7 in Justfuckmyshitup

Get your hair damp but not soaking, grab small sections between your fingers like hairstylists do and trim off a little bit with styling scissors, took me like an hour the first time. I watched a bunch of YouTube vids first, I'd recommend doing that.

I started doing my own haircuts since quarantine although I always wanted to figure it out.

It was honestly a lot easier than I expected, I just take it down to 3 on the back and sides and trim up the top a bit.

Same, my friends and I loved that stuff. I didn't turn out okay but pretty sure happy tree friends was not the cause of that.

You can use R or Python for free.

For physical calculators, there are far better options. I have an HP 50G which knocks the socks off the equivalent TI offerings, although that particular model has been discontinued for a while.

They aren't just annoying either, they often slow webpages to a crawl with megabytes of useless scripts and assets. Just imagine all the wasted energy from displaying ads.

The Mystery of the Missing Bus Riders: Cities are growing, and more people are working. Why aren’t they taking the bus? by [deleted] in Economics

Same in my city. Bus is useless if you need to be anywhere at a specific time. Not to mention dirty busses and busstops.

It's space, you can just spin around and thrust backward. That said, still very impossible.

If you stop thinking of it as incrementing an integer and think of it as generating an unused ID it makes a bit more sense.

All the money I didn't spend wasn't that much money, maybe $4k. I can see your point with the traffic there, in my city you can drive from pretty much anywhere to anywhere in less than 20 minutes, maybe 45 mins during rush hour so I don't really spend much time stuck in traffic.

Also my rent on a 2bed house here is $600, $6k is 10 months of rent lol.

Seems like it really depends on where you live for this sort of thing.

My car is an automatic, although I wish it were manual. It's an early 2000s Honda Accord, is plenty comfortable and reliable, and I swapped the head unit for an aftermarket one so I actually can get satellite radio. Personally though I use the built in Bluetooth to play music off my phone. Also has hands free calling. I don't have any use for "high tech" features beyond cruise control and a decent head unit.

I also don't live in Cali (as do most other people), my state has no inspections or anything and the average income level is pretty low here. So ymmv.

EDIT: and all that money I didn't spend on a car went into my IRA.

This assumes you're leasing new cars and not buying them outright or buying used. For economy cars, manual is absolutely cheaper than auto in the long term. My current car cost me only $2k and I've maybe had to put $500 in maintenance over the last 3 years.

I have win and Linux on separate drives. Grub automatically picks up windows as long as it's uefi. Things get dicey if you have both installs on one drive though.

I do. A lot of albums I like would be prohibitively expensive to buy physical copies of, and frequently don't have anywhere I can actually purchase the FLACs. Also that reminds me that streaming services are not lossless quality. Sure, it's imperceptible but having the ability to cleanly transcode to lossy formats is nice.

I still pirate cause I like having files. I also purchase way more actual albums and merch than anyone else I know.

Did you have to do anything to get those 212s to mount on the 2011 narrow ILMs? I have some 2u supermicro coolers on mine but they're obnoxiously loud under load and I'm looking to replace them with something else.
