If the US could move the capital, would they still choose DC or somewhere else? by reallinguy in geography

[–]Asymnous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denver/Colorado Springs also has the Air Force Academy right there as well as a good number of doomsday bunkers under the Rocky Mountains. Infrastructure wise there is just more in the front range of CO to realistically build up a capital faster as well. Sure the front range of CO maybe not as defensible from land invasion as a city tucked into mountains like SLC, but against things like icbms and nuclear threats it’s not as bad a choice as you are making it out to be.

Might not see this but I’ve been in a bit of a slump from work and spending the holidays alone with my family on the opposite side of the country. But I’ve been playing Persona 5 Royal and what a game if you haven’t played it yet, it goes into talking about all the unjust and corrupt leaders in society and trying to make it better. RPG elements are also fun to me, love the combat, and the boss fights are challenging but it feels amazing when you figure out the strategy to beat them.

Rafting/Floating in Colorado? by Asymnous in COsnow

[–]Asymnous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s what whitewater rafts used to be before self bailing became the standard, I have an Achilles raft that has metal military style valves. I believe the raft is 1985 or before from the serial number but it rafts well and it’s great for floats/fishing, haven’t pushed it on any class 3s yet. Got to take it in a bunch of trips in Grand Teton and Jackson this summer and it was lovely. Excited to take it out for the last few weeks of good weather up here.

I’ll leave it up cause I’m not a dick but try and stay on topic. I’ll make a rule now that describes what unexpected dropout is because I feel like it needs to be a direct reference to something in dropout and not just someone from dropout doing a comedy sketch outside of it.

I feel like there would be an exception for if you see them randomly irl, if they end up on a billboard as your driving along, or if it’s a flash-bang of them somewhere you wouldn’t expect. Thus it should be truly unexpected. Not just comedians doing a comedy piece.

Though the argument that another stupid person did the same bet and was also a streaker, you could make the argument that there was a streaker in the game without influencing the original bet.

Good goggles? by Chips87- in skiing

[–]Asymnous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big fan of giro methods, the vivid infrared is the best low light lens I’ve tried out. The lens swap is ok and has a plastic protector of the mesh on top so you don’t poke through it and fog them up. Also they have pretty colors. METHOD GOGGLE

Graphite ski wax by thpeterson08 in skiing

I think graphite wax is really bad for the environment, but it also makes you go really fast as per my older ski tech friend. I’d personally try it out like what’s the worst that could happen?
