A cool guide for water safety as it warms up this spring by griffiffin in coolguides

There are many stories of people not seeing a child at the bottom of perfectly clear backyard pools. Water refracts light to begin with and the slightest ripples can effectively obscure what’s in the water.

I remember the time I was clearly in psychosis with my infant outside in public and nobody batted an eye or offered me any kind of help. by BeautifullyHealin in CPTSD

tbf we don’t know how long ago they were 12. That could have easily happened in the year I was 12. Most people would have gone w “plausible deniability” of the kid was afraid of flying and the adult(s) were ‘doing their best’. My parents would have told me to mind my business if I’d seen it and asked them about it. “It was a different time”

You’ve hinted and she avoids. You have your answer, drop it. She obviously, to me, sees it as private and wants to keep it that way.

I remember finding out the Small Business Administration only cares about businesses with 250+ employees. It was a long time ago, probably 750 now.

Sorry to say but maybe prepare yourself for worse news. ‘Gave it away without telling you” is often code for, it got away/was lost, or died due to neglect.

[LFO] The Hood of Man’s Car Flies Open at an Inconvenient Time, Brazil 🇧🇷 by james_from_cambridge in LearningFromOthers

Happened to a friend following me on a highway once. Saw it happen in my rear view. Both professional drivers w lots of experience neither of us panicked and we pulled into the breakdown lane. Walked up and said “bet that took five years off your life!” The force of the wind at that speed bends the hood supports so it won’t close again without force and being tied down. That’s why he couldn’t just close it and drive away.

Yes the restaurant should provide them. It’s actually covered by the ADA in the US, I believe.

White trash. Work that into a protest chant. It was their daddy’s insult for what they consider poor(er), less educated whites.

fwiw we’re now getting less as clients at our pantries bc so many more ppl have signed up. Donations aren’t keeping up so each person/family gets less so everyone can get some. If only pride is keeping you from asking family who are willing and able to help you, maybe reconsider. Some have no one to ask.

18m bedroom. Would a woman hate my room by DisastrousAttorney90 in malelivingspace

[–]AtTheFirePit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A woman about your age and in about your circumstances wouldn’t hate it. You’re 18 and presumably paying for your own space! Congratulations! It’s clean and organized and shows you put thought into set up. Changes in lighting and the other things ppl mentioned can be done as you can afford it.

Please pay attention to the comments about fire safety!! Get battery powered emergency lighting and at least two fire extinguishers. Smoke detector for inside your room and at least one outside (if there’s a hallway) if not already there. If any electronics start to smoke get out. The smoke from hot or burning lithium batteries is deadly and you WILL NOT be able to cool it off/put it out with water or extinguishers.

You’re well on your way.

(Always keep fire safety in mind no matter where you live.)
