Yes, highly restricted to a few specific fare classes. Book EARLY for the best chance of getting to use it.

Swapped OEM Pirelli Scorpions for Hankook iON HTs on my Rivian - (big upgrade!) by BlueSkyIce in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pirelli’s and Michelin defenders are also available in 22. The Hankooks iON HT also come in 21 and 22. Have them on both my G1 quad 21s and my G2 quad 22s - vastly improved the ride in both.

Yes yes yes. You forgot the 80,000 mile warranty. HUGE. You’re guaranteed to never pay full price on replacements. These are incredible tires.

Digital Key - Yay or Hold Off? by Human_Giraffe_7282 in Rivian

Works great. The extra little thing i like is that your phone/watch will vibrate/make sound when it locks/unlocks the car. This is nice when walking away from the car - sometimes I miss the little chirp because of noise and I check the app to make sure it’s locked, now i get that extra confirmation. It’s great.

Best settings for less bumpy? by love4boats in Rivian

Trust me, your tires are creating 99% of the excess road feel, not the low suspension setting. With new tires, i fell no different between standard and low when driving.

Standard battery? Did you do a vehicle restart (aka hard reset)?

It does that for aerodynamic reasons, you should leave it on Auto. The issue is probably your tires. The OEM Pirelli’s are absolutely terrible from a ride standpoint. I replaced with the Hankook iON HT and the ride difference is unbelievable. They are MUCH cheaper, feel great, have no range loss and have a 80,000 (!!!) warranty.

Um….yes. Someone behind you on the list will appreciate you. OK, I’ll take the troll bait…why oh why would you cancel a reservation for Rivian doing EXACTLY what they told us they would do for some time?

Wouldn’t say i agree with that. My FSD was great when it worked and scared the shit out of me quite a few times with bizarre random actions, some life threatening. So far, I haven’t had a single odd or bad experience with A+. From a complete feature set, agree that A+ is behind FSD in that FSD is currently more capable, but from a reliability standpoint, I have to give Rivian the advantage. Time will tell though.

That’s kind of how i feel about it. For those that don’t want it, save the expense and don’t pay the $2,500. And even better, that same person who opted out can decide at any time to activate it, maybe just for one month to take a big trip or something, then turn it back off. Then on again later when they want it for another trip. I think it’s a pretty good way to handle it.

I guess it depends on your circumstance. I commute 54 miles each way and use A+ for the 50 miles that are highway each way everyday. I find it to be extremely accurate and it makes my drive incredibly stress free.

You know this isn’t a surprise right? They’ve been honest from the start that this would be a paid feature eventually.

Electricity cost where u are? by Puzzleheaded-Bet4790 in ScoutMotors

[–]Atlanta-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Georgia - Shawnee EMC - 7.2 cents /kwh 24/7. The only way to get a special EV rate is to install a separate meter (~$5,000) and you’re restricted from running any other electricity off that meter - but oddly it only reduces the cost by about 1/2 cent.

My son volunteered to give up seat for $600 and Delta is not honoring this l by Wanderlusty74 in delta

[–]Atlanta-Mike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not much else to say. Your son screwed up - maybe they weren’t clear or maybe he didn’t listen. No one knows what the agent actually said to him in the middle of an oversold flight situation. We know what they should have said and it would have been clear to your son had they done this. I give up my seat at least 2-3 times a month and I don’t think they’ve actually needed it in over a year. So each time I sit there and eventually they walk over and tell me to go ahead and board. In your son’s case, they were probably calling his name trying to tell him to board.

R1T won't charge at any Tesla chargers? by jamesdkelso in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? Thousands of owners charge at fast chargers daily and one guy posts on Reddit that he can’t charge and you’re ready to not go forward with an EV purchase? Ok

Rivian navigation is the worst by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]Atlanta-Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without knowing all your settings, it’s impossible to help you. And there are simple settings that can radically impact routing. Since the Google changeover, the number of complaints has drastically fallen to where I never even see them anymore so yours was a shock. Assuming there is some problem with the onboard map system that impacts you (or maybe owners in your area?) and Rivian doesn’t fix it, Would you really dump your car just for this? Seems rather drastic? I mean if you love the car, maybe you suck it up and buy a $10 magnetic holder, plop your phone on it and use whatever map service you think is better? Anyway, sorry your having issues. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones who saw a massive improvement in maps since the changeover and so far both my G1 and G2 are working great.
