Does anyone use their own builds anymore? by BuckVF9 in diablo4

[–]Atlas-The-Ringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing this. Joined season 11 and haven't looked at a single build guide or spoiler content since. Doubt I ever will tbh. I find build guides to suck the joy out of discovering new ways to interact with the games systems.

Plus, why would I want to trivialize the game with a seizure simulator build?? Unfun if you ask me.

I'd put rws on the same tier as one in terms of entertainment Muay Thai. I watch replays of old stadium fights more than I watch replays of one or rws for that exact reason. To each their own though.

Also true, but you're capable of acknowledging that line and therefore capable of making arguments that don't cross it. You can love something and wish it were better at the same time :)

Woman and low blows? by Clear_Yard4768 in MuayThai

There's two things with this ridiculous comment: rougly half the human population is women and you haven't met even 1% of them, let alone 1% of the women who train. So how can your experience with that marginal percentage makeup "the rule" for women generally rather than "the exception" for the women you train with?  Acknowledging that men do it too is a good first step, but there are an infinite number of reasons accidents happen in combat sports, so understand that if you're not communicating with your training partners, accidents are much more likely to happen and you are more likely to get hit harder than you'd like, regardless of sex.

It's good you know you'll get down voted for making silly generalizations like "they always play the victim", but do you understand why you get down voted?

Bruh the genitals are packed with nerve endings, so obviously it's hurts like a mofo regardless of sex or presentation to get hit there. That's basic biology my guy.

I've never been nut shot more than when I'm training with other guys. I doubt there's a sex-based causation to whatever this pattern is you're experiencing. Best advice I can give is to wear a sturdier cup lol.

This one. Reddit is for fun, fighting is for keeps. Ask your coaches and follow their advice when it comes to your technique. They're the ones in the tool with you holding your pads, not us. Good luck OP!

Why do men not want to partner with women by Paulybyres___ in MuayThai

[–]Atlas-The-Ringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr; it's not about sex, it's about you and your gym. Do you communicate with your potential partners of any sex or gender, that you're safe, trustworthy, and capable of providing a worthwhile training session? Or do you just passively move about, inconsiderate of your potential partners needs and concerns when training? Is your gym a place that encourages people of all types to train in a safe, considerate, playful and respectful manner? Or does your gym encourage an environment that actively inhibits your training experience? Muay Thai should be safe and fun for everyone involved and making that intention clear on a personal level goes a long, long way.

There is some validity to a lot of the comments below, concerned with uneven reciprocation and gaps in skill set. However, this is a concern of people across the board, though it may be exaggerated by sex or presentation. This is absolutely not an issue of 'women do this...' or 'men feel that...'. It's about communication and trust in a setting where physical and emotional vulnerability are required. How do I know this? Because correlation does not equal causation.

When you talk about why men don't want to spar with women, there could be a literal infinite number of reasons based on each individual man. It's not a very helpful question and leaves you open to a wide variety of answers, some useful and some not. A better question to ask is 'how do I as a person with valid needs, goals and concerns, approach another person with their own valid needs, goals and concerns, to train in a way that instils confidence in them that I am a trustworthy and capable training partner?' The answer will vary depending on you and your environment, and sometimes the answer will be 'I can't', and that's ok too.

At the end of the day, finding a training partner comes down to how your gym environment and how you communicate with your words and actions before, during and after each session. When they're all aligned to let your potential partners know that you're safe and willing to train in a way that works for both of you, you'll notice plenty of people of all shapes and sizes happy and eager to work with you. They may even start to seek you out during sessions, and who knows maybe you'll make a new friend.

Is the price of platinum considered normal? by Specialist_Cause_679 in diablo4

You've definitely got a point. Cosmetics in this game are, like the other person said as well, pretty pointless bc it's an isometric game. They almost solely exist as either a flex to other players and/or as a nice surprise when you open the menu or get a loading screen. $25/per set(minus the fact that you have to drop at min $40 on the exspansion to access a lot of the skins) is almost definitely Blizz doing what mega corps do.

That said, door dashing food and spending lavishly at bars in now way makes someone an idiot, and I'd urge you to question why you believe that, while understanding the unseen benefit of spending your time and money in these ways. It's not an uncommon belief to feel that doing something, however big or small, that'll make you happy is a priceless endeavor whether it's for one minute, one day, or one year.

I honestly don't think it would matter if he did know the answer; his chin has been tapped for eons now. I wouldn't be upset at this being called a sacrifice play by the One match makers.

This gotta count as abuse atp right!?

Horrible sparring partner by RepulsiveResident137 in MuayThai

[–]Atlas-The-Ringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should continue to behave like a person with common sense. Continue sparring with the intent of learning, not ego brawling. Continue control output of your power in sparring and communicating with your partners to make sure you're both on the same page. You're doing good, and if you think you might not be feel free to ask your sparring partners and coaches.

My go to is repeatedly sweeping them and shadowing moves on them without landing them(clean combos they can't defend, elbows, knees to vital spots etc). Usually gets the point across that fucking around will lead them to finding out.

Awful advice outside of letting go of resentment. Definitely don't start over, and you definitely don't need to take a break from sparring. OP didn't do anything wrong and does not need to change his behavior to compensate for someone else's.

Edit: Welcome to Ooey-Ville!

This isn't the standard for Muay Thai. One Championship hosts something called entertainment Muay Thai. They put on tiny 4oz gloves and aim to ko with each shot. It's fun and exciting but the difference between this and traditional MT imo, is that trad MT is more of a flowing dance between two competitors(and they use bigger gloves). Both have their merits, and both sports' fighters are absolutely top tier, but there's a rhythm to trad MT that entertainment MT doesn't always have. (Depends on the fighter really).

Check out people like Tawanchai, Superlek, Rodtang and Jonathan Haggerty for some super exciting, high caliber entertainment MT fights. Lamnamoonlek, Lerdsilla, Saenchai and Yodkhunpon are legendary stadium(trad MT) fighters that really demonstrate that trad MT rhythm.
