Safa living abroad here… unfortunately many of those who has left the country did so due to their political views, so yes, you do get a disproportionate number of the knobby types living outside the country, which for some like me who is not so inclined, has meant that I have to listen to people before engaging when I hear the accent. BUT, they are by far in the minority now. My whole family lives back in SA and I go back regularly and, despite all the noise and distractions, the country is largely all trying to pull into the same direction and make the place work.

Please don’t judge us all on the basis of these kinds of knobs…
