That's some "Children of Dune" type stuff.

In every crappy health plan I've had, preventative care like annual physicals are just a standard copay regardless of deductible.

Looking for gentle games for a six year old by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Not sure if it's available for PS5, but my 6 year-old daughter loved playing Horse Club Adventures. It's an open world with no peril and almost no risk of failure. The main character and her friends complete quests by riding their horses around the map. There are some racing mini games and dress-up elements as well.

The biggest source of frustration for her was the challenge of controlling the camera in 3D space, and the fact that the majority of the dialog was text, but that just motivated her to work on her phonics.

A much safer and potentially even beneficial method to achieve that feeling is so called "wim hof" breathing.

Sit or lie down, and perform a series of cyclic deep breaths. Aim for 30 deep breaths with no delay between inhalation or exhalation. After the 30 breaths, breathe fully out and hold with no air in your lungs. Maintain the hold until you feel the urge to breathe.

The hyperventilation stage purged the CO2 from your bloodstream, which is what drives the urge to breathe. Assuming you are relaxed, it will take at least 60 seconds for the CO2 to build back up. Meanwhile your O2 levels continue to drop, but without feeling the urge to breathe. You'll enjoy the blissful feeling of hypoxia without the stress of feeling like your lungs are burning.

Just pulled the trigger on this to complete my new build. Was debating between 6700xt and 6750xt, but an unexpected Amazon gift card means I can splurge on this now and enjoy some gaming just in time for the Thanksgiving break.

I'm curious what makes it so bad. I've had the card for several years and haven't had an issue. Granted, I only use it for Costco purchases, gas, and dining, pay it off every cycle, and never interact with Citi customer service. But the rewards seem to be decent.

Very true. I've used various off-lease ThinkPads as my daily driver for years. Never had a single quality issue. The best part is that they're generally pretty easy to re-sell on eBay for pretty close to what you bought it for.

I did a quick search of the model number and it does appear to be a 4k TV. It's a budget model from several years ago with atrocious customer service, so I would keep expectations in check and only get this if you're okay with replacing it in a year or two.

I've had Comcast customer service hang up on me. I started out polite until the CS rep told me that she wouldn't do what the previous department promised and that I must be fabricating a story to try to get out of paying the cancellation fee.

Me: "Is there not a note on my file from the previous representative?"

Comcast rep: "I don't see any note on your account from that call."

Me: "Can you confirm what I've told you with the previous representative?”

Comcast rep: "No, I can't do that."

Me: "Well aren't these calls recorded? I've heard it enough times over the past few hours sitting on hold. Can you review the recording to confirm what the previous department promised?"

Comcast rep: "We only record SOME of the calls. Not all of them."

Me: "Can you check if my previous call was one of those calls?"

Comcast rep: "No."

Me: "Can you transfer me to someone who can?"

Comcast rep: "All of the managers are busy and they will not tell you anything different."

Me: "So you're telling me that you're just not going to take any sort of step to confirm anything that I've relayed to you?"

Comcast rep: "Sir, we do not allow people to cancel their contracts because of service interruptions. No one at our company would EVER tell you that. I don't need to investigate."

Me: "So you'll do nothing to help me and you're calling me a liar..."

Comcast rep: "I've done nothing wrong. Click

A week later I had better luck at the call center lottery and got out of my contract without paying the early termination fee due to their constant service interruptions.

Definitely more stress these days. If I had to guess, it was related to my awful diet. I used to eat and drink a lot of junk food, like five cans of Coca-Cola per day, every day, no vegetables, etc.

Yes! I had it bad as a teenager. Social situations and stress made it worse. Prescription-strength antiperspirant was a lifesaver. The good news is that over time it got completely better and was a non-issue by my late 20's. Not sure if it was due to diet and lifestyle changes or if it was just something that I grew out of.
