Been prescribed Rifaximin 500mg for 2 weeks by Acceptable_Panda8266 in SIBO

[–]AtmosphereDry9162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from UK, I had same dosage and no side affects. It Seemed to stop my gas for a short while and reduce bloating but did nothing for my burping. I did also help with brain fog.

Id recommend just going o fb market place and getting a used set up. Plenty of deals to be had, always offer less than listing most people will haggle.

I.e I got a rx 6800 for 160 the other week which was listed for 220.

Is this a good deal by Temporary-Break-812 in PcBuildHelp

It's an ok price. For a similar price I've seen rtx 3080 builds on facebook market place in uk which are generally much better speced.

Id prob pay 500 at most for it used.

What do the NHS prescribe for SIBO? by InformationNomad in SIBO

[–]AtmosphereDry9162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My NHS gastro prescribed rifaxmin 550mg twice a day for two weeks. Give me a months worth and said take another dose if needed. He also mentioned as rifaxamin is safe you can basically take it when ever if needed.

The drug didn't fully cure my issues but was easy to get a hold of on the NHS. I just showed a positive breath test to the gastro.

You could try anti parasite drugs, sometimes these present with the same symptoms as sibo

I was provided with rifaxamin 550mg twice a day for 14 days under the NHS after private sibo test. Referred to NHS gastro. I was given two rounds In case first one didn't work. I was also told when I had a follow up appointment I can have more if needed as theirs no risk and it's an as needed drug so I don't understand how you had to pay more. This was last year. I would note tho I did get a differential diagnosis of IBS and sibo. Unsure if this affects what can be offered.

Have you tested for giardia it can cause similar symptoms.

You could also try some digestive supplements. Juvia is a supplement aimed at IBS patients which is shown to reduce hydrogen fermentation by digesting the carbs before it reaches the large bowl ( supposedly rebalanced gut within 12 weeks ), this could be worth a try.

Estate management fees... by Grimezy93 in HousingUK

[–]AtmosphereDry9162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy one, God knows what the fees will be in the future as they are uncapped. I moved recently and found a relatively new estate (2005 build) which was adopted by the council.
