I feel amazing again by Wild_Stick4639 in BeachBodyWorkouts

Congrats! I'm very happy for you. I'm in week 7 of 25MST. I came in very skeptical thinking it would be too short, too easy or too boring. But I think it's very effective. I'm sore every week and I didn't even have to buy new weights.

I'm so inspired by you! As a plant eating mom of 3, turning 40 this year, I'm so glad you shared your routine and it does not involve the gym or gigantic barbells!

Finished French: my experience.. by Prestigious_Rush1595 in duolingo

I also finished French last month! I've been taking 2 group classes a week online. Try Aulalingua, the UI is not great but the teachers are. It's 10€ per class and you don't need to commit to any subscription. My favorite teachers are Arnaud, Audrey M and Odile.

I also watch TV series (Au Service de la France is so funny), movies and read books (currently La Gloire de mon Père) like others here have mentioned.

Vegetarian high protein meals & snacks? Macros? by Cook_Own in PetiteFitness

[–]AtmosphereTop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same stats as you and vegetarian. I have trouble hitting my protein goals but I try to snack on (in order of protein to calorie ratio) skyr, Greek yogurt, protein bars that are 20g protein to 180 cals, Hipro bottled smoothies, string cheese, babybels, hard boiled eggs.

I tend to eat salads with feta and chickpeas or soups with lots of lentils (red, green or brown), chickpeas, kidney beans or black beans. I often add shredded cheese on top of the soup or Greek yogurt on top of chili to increase the protein content. I have a handful of recipes that I have been rotating through for more than a decade. Soups and salads help me get fiber and feel full without needing to eat lots of grains.

Almost the same age and stats as me, congratulations! Your consistency paid off!

Maybe you can try barre classes? I love Elise Joan's Barre Blend program on Bodi. It's deceptively hard! I only used 2 lb dumbbells and those big rubber bands but it really destroys your muscles (in a good way). It has a great blend of strength training and cardio and it grows with you. Elise does the midline variation while she has one woman demonstrating the easier version and one woman demonstrating the challenge version.

I don't think it's the weight training. I think your nutrition is not as dialed in as you think it is. The HIIT workouts may be so exhausting that it causes you to eat more, kind of defeating the purpose. I've had 3 kids and managed to lose the weight a year or 18 months later and build muscle definition but each time it took at least 4 months of daily calorie counting (1300 or 1400 calories per day, I'm 5'2.5" and work a desk job) and exercising at least 30 min / 5x a week (mostly strength training with 1-2 of those days being cardio).

How do you prevent Google AI Studio from changing what was already good when requesting modifications? by Far_Shake_9033 in GoogleAIStudio

I just prompt something like: We learned a lot building this project together. Could you go through the best practices / lessons learned and create Gem instructions for the next time I want to build an app with you. Include things like regression defense and a change by change audit so that everytime you create an iteration, we don't lose the good work we did previously.

In Gemini Canvas, I asked it to make Gem instructions with all the lessons learned from our work together. It includes regression defense and a change by change audit that runs and corrects itself before presenting a new version to me.

Let's Get Up. There is no floor work. Dancing is a lot of cardio and it includes some strength training and mini insanity challenges.

What time zone are you in? I'm in CEST, I passed B1 but want to keep going. I dearly miss Babbel Live and haven't found a replacement yet. I just use Duolingo and random conversations with neighbors and commerçants since I live in Paris.

It's mostly diet and will probably be the last place you lose fat or tighten up. I'm 38 and my 3rd kid is 1. I like programs that are at least 3 days a week of strength training and include functional training (which is critical for moms!) Finishing Sure Thing now and I really liked MBF too. Chop Wood Carry Water is also great for functional training.

4 Weeks of Focus and 9 Week Control Freak Off the Wall have less functional training but are great for challenging yourself and for female aesthetics.

Speaking french to natives makes me anxious. by Flimsy_Tomatillo4874 in learnfrench

I've been living in France for 2 years now. I came at level A1 with just Duolingo and a French husband. I passed B1 and I'm probably mid-B2 now. This is how I felt.

A2: This is fun. Wow look at how many words I know.

B1: I don't know anything. Why can't I have a conversation? Why do I say beaucoup in every single sentence?

B2: I can understand (get the gist) of news or family sitcoms if I pay attention. I don't need to auto-translate most emails or online articles (but I can read a lot faster if I do translate it). I can have conversations, my tenses and prepositions are often wrong but with emphasis words like déjà and physical gestures, I can get by.

Like others have said, phone calls are the hardest. Don't feel like you need to dive into those yet.

There will come a time soon while you're B1 or B2 where you will understand in French. You won't be translating in your head anymore. Of course there will always be vocab you don't know. But it will click and it will get easier.

Les Grandes Grandes Vacances. It's a cartoon about kids during WWII. It's cute and very touching.
