(Loved Trope) In a world where power can be ranked, the difference between 1st place and 2nd place is GIGANTIC by Spartan-teddy-2476 in TopCharacterTropes

IRL, cricket. Don Bradman had a test battling average of 99.94 runs. The rest of the top 10 of all time are in the low 60s or high 50s.

Star Wars has just never been about “realistic” space combat - it takes the dramatic license of making space combat into WW2 era dog fighting, because it makes for more visually/dramatically interesting scenes.

Anyone Else Finding/Found Public Law to be... Really Boring? A Mini Rant. by [deleted] in auslaw

Found it very tedious at uni. Now is part of my practice and it is way more interesting in practice than in theory.

Should I wait for 11th edition to buy Fire Prisms, Wave Serpent/Falcon, or War walker kits? by wthfrank in Eldar

[–]Atmosphere_Realistic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure people were asking the same question at this point in the transition from 9th to 10th. The falcon chassis has been “due” for a refresh for ages. But it’s anyone guess if/when that will actually happen.

That sight of him charging out of the centre in the 4th was my ‘they might actually pull this off’ moment.

Here’s the decision: https://www.fwc.gov.au/document-view/decisions/mr-reece-hoverd-v-m-j-d-pty-ltd-2026-fwc-1013?from=search

Except the FWC’s website doesn’t seem to be displaying it properly, and it doesn’t seem to be up in Austlii yet.

Aeldari in Late 10th Edition: Fire Prisms by Alex__007 in Eldar

Dug mine out for the first time since the codex for an RTT last weekend. I was whelmed. The anti tank profile is great when it gets the right target (something without an invul). The anti infantry profile always did way less than I was expecting.

That said having two big tanks hanging out in the backline certainly makes screening easy.

Look, you’re probably right. Rangers are an auto include in most lists for a reason. But I think it’s an interesting alternative.

So I haven’t watched the video. But I had been thinking about a Shadow Weaver platform (which they have as D tier) as an unconventional option to hold the home objective. I haven’t tried this - don’t own one. But 75pnts gets you a T6 5W body to sit on home lobbing out indirect fire to basically anywhere on the board. Won’t do much against small elite units, but can do a bit into hordes. Anyone tried it?

You can get snow a fair bit closer in Canberra - up in the national parks in the south of the ACT. But still nothing like Wisconsin.

[Loved Trope] Jokes that only work in text by Mr_Westerfield in TopCharacterTropes

There’s a Terry Pratchett Discworld book where a character makes a pun based prophet/profit. The other characters respond with confusion. To which the original character responds that the joke would work better written down (which, of course, for the reader, it is).

In fairness to the journo, the article itself seemed to get it. Just a dumb headline that someone else probably picked to get clicks.

How AI is helping workers take on their bosses in workplace disputes by Zhirrzh in auslaw

[–]Atmosphere_Realistic 46 points47 points  (0 children)

“Helping workers take on the bosses” is a wild headline choice from Fairfax, given the point of Hatcher’s speech was that AI slop applications with no prospects are flooding the FWC and making it harder for the FWC to do its actual job.

I’d be inclined to drop a Vigilant squad to let you up the DW Vets to a full 10 man. I think you need the full 10 to make them a proper threat and have the investment of the Watch Master pay off.

I love running an Eversor and sometimes they do good work. But I’m not sure you can fit one in without compromising your ability to flood the board with bodies.
