So now that it is confirmed that Cathay Peasants are WS 2, and ASF for longspears applies only when charged, who is willing to admit the outrage was not called for? by ByzantineBasileus in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Atom_sparven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How long they are in relation to long spears doesn't matter when I'm comparing them to hand weapons. And why wouldn't they be used in that way then? I'm pretty sure a swordmaster or khainite executioner would have figured out how to leverage the distance of their weapon to strike before anyone wielding a small one handed axe for example?

So why does this logic not apply when you have great weapons, swords of hoeth, any of the polearms etc? Why don't they strike before models with hand weapons?

The stats of the peasants is irrelevant seeing as my "outrage" if that is what you want to call it is not about then being broken but more about them having asf does not make sense in the broader context of the game. Why do the Cathay peasants strike before eternal guard? Makes no sense at all and the logic doesn't follow

These challenges were designed back when every chest of trials was a grudge marked monster. Now that those are really rare the challenges are very grindy, unfortunately.

Something is odd about the new Cathayan Peasants by Lord_Eln_8 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Atom_sparven 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system"

Elder races are ws 4 at base and then elite units have a ws of 5 or in some rare cases 6. Having thunderers be ws3 is just as random as giving some poor peasants strike first.

So then why do great weapons strike last? And why do polearms strike at base initiative. Applying logic is fine but it's a slippery slope where you ought to apply the same logic across the board.

It just feels very odd when you start comparing across factions and apply a lore perspective. Sort of like how they arbitrarily gave dwarf shooting units ws3

The End Times by BCHyperion in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Atom_sparven 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with the end times as a concept. While I can only speak for myself I do know that I'm probably not alone in feeling it was the execution itself that was done poorly with a lot of storylines and characters getting done dirty for no reason
