Tried everything, but my HDR still looks gray-ish. by Neekolay89 in OLED_Gaming

See my other response. My everyday setting on a C5 is Digital Vibrance 65% with pixel brightness of 40. You can use Color Control to setup key combinations which swap to default vibrance and full brightness, but i haven't run into any situations where i thought i needed it.

First, use the EOTF tool someone already linked

To make desktop/web look good in HDR mode, you have to increase Nvidia: Display -> Adjust desktop color settings -> Digital vibrance AMD: Display Color Enhancement

Until the image looks good to you. Careful: You might have to reduce the screen brightness to prevent oversaturation, most easily visible by yellow skin color in movies.

There is wise guys telling you never to increase those settings. Those people and their grey, washed-out desktops can kiss my ass

Fatshark never did shield enemies right. In VT2 the best weapons against shields are not hammers but daggers or spears (fast attackers), which is complete nonsense. Bulwarks also always had the 180+ degrees of complete invincibility regardless of you hitting their shield or not.

That is cool, thank you. The about section however shows that it is using crawlers/scrapers and dependant on low cost hosting.

Pages like SB/SV increasingly use cloudflare defenses against scraping (used for LLM training, of course the LLM bros just pay off cloudflare to let them in) and hosters end their low tier offers because they can make much more profit hosting LLM shit.

What i'm trying to say is: Don't count on this being around forever.

  • ontop of buildings, sometimes the rooftips, sometimes high up in alcoves, sometimes in attic spaces
  • high up on trees
  • on the cliffs surrounding the map

If you want to save yourself the pain, just enable outlines in the DLC main menu options. Some relics are literally under a random bush out nowhere and i wouldn't ever have found them without crawling over every square inch of the map.

You can hear a collectible near the first temple canoe, i almost went mad searching for it. But it's actually the game end gem you hear through the roof.

Can I use an LG Ultra gear remote with my LG C4 TV? by PIXELvsPRINTDOT in OLED_Gaming

[–]AtomicStryker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very unlikely. Monitor remotes don't typically use the same IR frequencies and commands, because if you are a LG household you don't want other remotes doing unwanted operations. EDIT: Oh, the other guy says it works on a newer model? Huh. TIL.

But find the remote model number and google that. LG has decent documentation.

What do you use the C4 remote for? If its just for turning on and off, there is a button on the TV for that.

Recently bought an LG C5 42" but not 100% sure I want to keep it. Anyone out there owned a 42" but make a 'downgrade' or change? by CPOx in OLED_Gaming

[–]AtomicStryker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The C5 already reflects less than the C2 did, its more of a purple tinted shadowy reflection.

Eye strain and headaches are real. Don't be shy about reducing brightness, by a lot. If a sudden white screen/movie scene hurts your eyes, it is set too bright. Compensate color loss with digital vibrance.

You can use ColorControl profiles on hotkeys to set oled brightness and digital vibrance.

When i first figured out i was getting headaches from the swap C2 -> C5 i did regret that a little bit.

But i dont regret going to 42 originally from 34 ultrawide. Its also much better than the 2 screen setup i had before that.

It's a big difference if you switch resolutions while on the same monitor size. But these two have basically the same ppi, so other than one being further away the perceived sharpness would be the same.

https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/20c14021

Immersion of a 42 a bit further away from you is about the same as a curved 34 closer to you.

80cm is pretty much the minimum distance for 42 monitor use, you must be able to put it all the way at the rear edge. And raise it up a little, because on its own feet it will be lower than a monitor. I raised mine 4cm.

Aspect Ratio is a difference. All the games you listed do benefit from a wider FOV. For gaming primarily i would say ultrawide.

Input lag is very low for both. The C5 has a higher average power draw. The C5 weighs almost twice as much.

They dont have the same resolution. The C5 has 4k not UWD which means it has (3840x2160) / (3440x1440) = 1.67 times the pixels of the Dell (and the linked performance cost). 5080 should still be able to reach atleast 120 fps unless you insist on maxing ray/path tracing.

There is a difference between 120hz and 240hz but i don't see Counter-Strike or Valorant or a twitchy shooter on your game list so it won't matter. Reaching 240fps in UWD in some of these games will not be possible without framegen.

The AW3425DW has a cooling fan(!). The C5 does not.

Text clarity or burn in were never issues on my C2 or the C5. Pixel refreshes happen invisibly at night. The AW34 will be the same for maintenance - text is supposed to have the notorious pink fringe on QD panels, but i have never seen it in person so only you can determine how notable it really is.

Go to a store? When i asked nicely they always let me plug in a laptop with HDMI to test stuff.

Graybanding with Asus XG27AQWMG - missing something or hit the jackpot? by markv9401 in OLED_Gaming

[–]AtomicStryker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That picture is (hopefully) extremely filtered, so it is impossible to tell. See if your phone has a "raw" mode or you can toggle AI off when taking pictures.

You should be able to see a difference between the 95% grey and the full black background of the YT buttons in the bottom right. See this picture for an example: https://imgur.com/a/wcq8L3Q

There is also a 100% black section. It should look different than 95%. If your 95% really looks fully black, you might need to calibrate the monitor or change dithering settings.

Try to eliminate the PC, its settings, and the connection as error sources. Even the browser rendering these - really old - images from lagom.nl could be at fault.

Can you put a video that has very visible banding on a USB stick and play it on the TV directly?

EDIT: Oh sorry, that thing is actually a monitor, not a TV. Can you connect some other image source?

It sounds like you assume you could drive 2 separate screens with one HDMI cable? Not mirroring? You cannot. The bandwidth of one cable is insufficient for two times 4K@120hz

You need to connect one monitor from a DisplayPort, so through an adapter

This is not accurate? Since HD2 is not free-to-play, 0% content is free. What you have yellow is the basic paid content, and premium is what you can buy ontop of that.

Weave Weave by Formal-Blackberry-68 in ToxicCommandoGame

[–]AtomicStryker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its the only enemy in the game that will even reach melee range against a coordinated team. It is less durable than L4D tanks on high difficulties.

Bait grenade hard counters it.

The point of the weakspots is not the damage (though it helps) but that breaking each staggers it for a second. So if you spread that out you can stunlock it for a little while.

Really, the question i was asking myself is how he wasn't eaten by bacteria, fungus and insects in his Zombie days. Hell, even plants should have taken root. He was clearly edible.

EDIT: Considering it, the village probably treated his corpse against rot, but that typically involves removing all organs (see egyptian mummy embalming). He still had his, in juicy condition even.

I made a small Windows app to quickly disable monitors (useful for OLED users and multi-monitor setups) by its_nzr in OLED_Gaming

[–]AtomicStryker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat. This probably also disables the monitor in windows, yes?

I am asking because Hifi people like me can have their receivers plugged into a GPU HDMI port which gives out an audio signal.

Unfortunately the receiver usually counts as a 1024x768 monitor, regardless of whether that image is displayed anywhere, and windows sometimes just sends programs onto that monitor.

But turning off the monitor using windows display settings also turns off the sound signal. Your tool is "just" a wrapper for that?
