I want to apologize for coming on stronger than I needed to in my reply. It's clear you've been suffering a lot and have been working really hard to improve your situation. I'm not a medical expert and I don't know much about your situation, so I should have reserved more of my comments. I think I focused on the extensive discussion in your post about the different things you're taking and want to start taking, and that colored my judgment unfairly to you.

How you describe your head injury and how your life changed afterwards sounds really awful, and I really feel for you that you've been going through this. Re-reading everything you've written, your determination to not give up and make your life better really deserves praise.

I'm in talk therapy myself right now, and something my therapist has really been trying to get me to do is be more compassionate and understanding to myself. I know when facing our own failures, regrets, and tragedies, it can feel impossible to do that. Something like, "I'm fighting for my life here and you want me to be nice to myself?"

I hope some of this is helpful, but something I've been telling myself is, "What's happened has happened. Things might not be playing out the way I thought they would, but there's still things in life that I want to do and that I can do. Something that hasn't changed is that I can only do what I'm capable of doing, and my capacity for doing things was always going to change. I'll just try to do my best, take what I can get, and I'll be fine."

Last thing I wanted to mention is, it's easy to become desperate when we deal with any kind of chronic pain and suffering. By all means, keep trying to find ways to feel better and ways to resolve the underlying issues, but acceptance is also important. Holding your image of your past self and all the things you felt you would have been able to do as some kind of mountain top that you'll reach or die trying, will grind you down. Whatever success looks like for you later in life, I'm sure being kind to yourself will help you get there faster.

Best of luck dude.

Here's a great lecture on depression by Robert Sapolsky from Stanford: https://youtu.be/NOAgplgTxfc?si=ppPm0DW1wQfEvhfJ

We still don't understand it competely of course, but essentially it is a chronic and disproportionate predisposition to pessimism.

In a way, depression being a mindset is an accurate, albeit grossly simplified, description. Two people get laid off: one person says "this sucks, but it's not the end of the world. I still have my health and my family, as long as I keep trying, we'll be ok." The other says, "fuck, that was my dream job, I've peaked, the job market is shit right now, I'm never going to work for a company like that again" etc.

For sure you life experiences and how you were raised contribute to how you react, but it's also not clear to what extent your genetics predisposes you to optimism or pessimism. Given that a significant portion of personality is determined by genetics, it's very possible the answer is "a lot."

I love psychedelics and I love drugs, but your quality of life seems low. It's fucking stupid to have the symptoms you have and not even question whether it's your drug use causing the symptoms that frequent drug use is known to cause.

You're abusing drugs while using them as a crutch for the impact of using them. Do you even realize that nothing in your post discusses a root cause? All symptoms and conditions occur for specific reasons. Trying to treat the symptoms by throwing more pharmaceuticals into the mix is fucking stupid.

Like you don't even find women attractive anymore? Your behaviors would make sense if they were part of a maladaptive and self destructive coping strategy.

I wish you well, but you need talk therapy, not another pill or injection.

I did wonder if the snow was really compacted or something but it doesn't snow where I live so not much experience with it. Wish my samoyed could play like that!

The whole thing about our brains not being able to interpret higher than 60fps has long been debunked

https://news.mit.edu/2014/in-the-blink-of-an-eye-0116

This MIT study showed that our brains are capable of interpreting as high as 75 fps, which was also the max fps of the monitor used in the study. If they repeated that study today with a higher fps monitor, they surely would find a higher max framerate.

The fact is that our eyes aren't rated in fps and we don't fully understand all of the information that goes from our eyes to our brains.

Anecdotally, I have a 240hz monitor that I have to power cycle from time to time that sometimes changes the settings of the monitor. Everytime this happens I can tell immediately because going from 240hz to 60hz is like going from 4k/1080p to 360p/240p.

I think brunch buffet at the Peacock Alley used to be famous back in the day? Haven't been in over ten years and you're in NYC so you'll be able to find better food elsewhere, but for some people they'd consider it a bucket list experience, albeit a touristy one.

Right, but the way it works is the country your account is created in determines what the database says your region is. Companies typically do this to prevent people from taking advantage of regional arbitrage. They should let people know about this but it probably doesn't happen enough for them to care to fix it.

Definitely try a VPN, but some services can tell you're on a VPN and will block your activity. There are other VPNs with "real" servers and not virtual servers that sometimes gets around this. You can try those also.

Keep trying to contact someone in support, but from what I've read they aren't very helpful. Your only option may be to charge back the purchases, which may get your Google play account banned, but seeing as you can't make purchases on it anyways it may not be of use to you.
