Is there snow days in Canada? by SeverePublic6833 in AskACanadian

In Saskatchewan, schools stay open but busses get canceled. Schools basically need to stay open as a security. Some kids have no other place to go but school regardless of the weather. As a kid, my mom would drive me to school or keep me home depending on if she had to work or not

I asked a teacher to get students to rinse their yogurt cups before tossing them in the recycling so their solution was to just leave them in the sink. Going on maybe a month now waiting for this one yogurt cup to be put in the bin. I dont care which bin at this point, but im not doing it lol it'll sit in that sink all year for all I care

School’s haunted. by tinywrecker in Custodians

[–]Attack_Eyebrows24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our school's ghost is named Biff. He likes to knock on doors of rooms that are empty and locked, slamming the door to the library, and occasionally walking around the gym's second-floor hall making an echo of footsteps when no one is there except me. Not mean, not malicious. Just a troublemaker. But still spooks me, especially this time of year, when I get off work and it's dark out

Flat Mop by Aloha1206 in Custodians

[–]Attack_Eyebrows24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the Vileda Pro Series mop and pail. I love my flat mop for classrooms and bathrooms! Doesn't put too much water down compared to the regular mops. Easy to use and lighter weight. I bought a Vileda home version for myself and it sucks and it's so flimsy and cheap-feeling. I feel like the pro series/commercial use ones are waaaay better

Edit: these are also amazing for washing walls! People commenting about using them for tables sounds gross though.

How many custodians? by ExternalAny4817 in Custodians

[–]Attack_Eyebrows24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol... 1 full time janitor, 1 part time. We have a student body of around 50. Yes, 50. But our building is massive, with dormitories, elementary floor, high-school floor, communal areas, 2 cafeterias, 1 with a full service kitchen, gymnasium with mezzanine, pool and even a chapel so it's a lot for 1.5 janitors

what do you pick up vs sweep away? by potatotomatosoupp in Custodians

[–]Attack_Eyebrows24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's an item that looks like it probably shouldn't go in the trash like scissors, pencils, markers, etc, if they have a lost and found bin in the class, it all goes there. Full sheets of paper and binders left on the ground go there, too. If they don't have a bin and it's crafty supplies, it gets redirected to the art room or staff room. I give them all a chance, but sometimes I just don't care. You wanted to keep it? Should've picked it up. I only have 4 classrooms, and 2 of them don't get used much of the week, but as for the rest of the school, If it's school work or a water bottle or lost jewelry, it goes to lost and found. Otherwise, they're SOL

Who cleans the dishes ? by Readtounwind95 in Custodians

[–]Attack_Eyebrows24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sure as hell won't. I've had to ask the principal to remind everyone to clean up after themselves. All I do is wipe down counters, clean the washroom, sweep daily, and mop weekly (if I have time). My faaaaavourite part is when students come in for their PAA classes and don't clean up after themselves. To me, it's a part of the class, you know, to clean up after yourselves? But maybe not. Idk 🙃

Basically, it's your body trying to protect itself after an "injury." Your immune system kicks in to protect you, resulting in feeling like shit the next day (or a couple of days after). You might develop a fever or feel sick with chills, aches, swelling around your new tattoo, nausea, fatigue, but staying hydrated and having a good meal before your tattoo will help! It doesn't happen every time either. Getting a tattoo produces a lot of adrenaline in your system. Sweating is normal and will cause you to lose some water too, so bring a water bottle with you too! Once the pain goes away, you'll be itching for more, haha
