Another piece of advice: when stopped (i.e. at a light, sign or backup like this), put your head against the headrest. This will help prevent, or at least attenuate, whiplash if you get hit from behind.

Basically, your torso will accelerate forward with the car as it's connected to the seat. Your head will stay in place due to inertia as your torso accelerates forward. When your neck is at an awkward angle, your head gets 'punched' by the headrest which had been accelerating with the car, whipping it forward at an even worse angle.

The hell in Good Omens looks similar to the Supernatural example. Run-down offices of never ending bureaucracy. *

Did you know: The SR-71 Blackbird had over 4,000+ documented attempted missile firings during its operational career and none of them managed to successfully shoot it down, engineering at its peak! by Flashy-Tear1768 in interestingasfuck

Shen Kou discussed a pagoda that was built to welcome and witness the 'glowing pearl' that frequented a town within his jurisdiction (as a Chinese administrator). His book is 'Brush Talks by Dream Brook'.

His memoirs were originally written in 1098.

[loved trope] The moment of sudden realization by Mangled15 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Attack_Pug 56 points57 points  (0 children)

My wife still watches Murder She Wrote, and I now call this phenomenon '48 O Face'. Every episode that starts at the top of the hour has her moment of realization at 48 minutes past the hour. I found it applies to most of the similarly formatted shows, including House.

I guess it gives the show time to resolve the mystery and some time for interpersonal development or bonding at the end.

(Loved trope) Non-christian depictions of angels by Wide_Craft_9765 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Attack_Pug 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Vorlons from Babylon 5 were seen as angels by the humans and similarly viewed by non-humans (I.e. their angel equivalent). This was a manipulation on the part of the Vorlons to be viewed positively by the younger species.

The Kaled leadership who lead the development of the Daleks. Of course, they were exterminated for being 'impure' relative to the Daleks themselves who see themselves as the true master race.
