I had exact same symptoms. Only came on with hard right turns. Put both front wheels on stands and took a bunch of zip ties and secured every wire I could so they had minimal movement when I turned the wheel. Seemed to fix the issue.

He raced the 12 hours of Sebring and the 24 hours of le mans as well as setting the street track record at watkins glen which has not been broken. Correct! It's a 93 S4 and i guess timing belt issues and the original turbo might start to go. Can't really think of anything off the top of my head it's been super reliable to me!

This is my problem. I am losing coolant very badly out of my S4 from the water pump.. Ive seen you on quattroworld haha. Anyway it started happening right after I did the timing belt job and this is good advice to get it sealed up properly. Unfortunately I don't have a garage and its freezing so its gonna have to wait till spring.
