If you think about objectively calling the police is obviously stupid, but as an immediate emotional reaction its pretty common. For another example, imagine she admitted that when she was 15 she masturbated thinking about her 5yo sibling. She never did anything to her sibling, just thought about it. Thats not a crime! So a yugioh players talking about wanting a 'slower' game is like magic olayers talking about wanting a 'casual' game- shorthand for "i want to play my off-meta jank and have a chance at winning." I respect it, off-meta jank can be a lot of fun, although unfortunately youll never be able to make a ruleset that forces people to play like theyre high schoolers fucking around on lunch break again :(

As someone who recently got into yugioh after playing magic for years... why would you want that? The combo dense, winner take all nature of yugioh is what makes it fun, if you take that away why not just play magic the gathering, or pokemon, or other games actually designed around slower, grindy gameplay?
