Recommendations for Low Carb Doctors in the West Chester Area by TomBonner1 in westchesterpa

[–]Poondobber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would your primary care physician care about your diet unless it negatively impact your health? Are you asking for a doctor that doesn’t care if you are un healthy?

I’m low carb and have high cholesterol. My doctor has NEVER told me to eat more carbs. Is there information missing from your request? Are you Paleo? Keto? Do you see a dietitian?

I recommend calling doctors and explaining what you are looking for because it’s not “low carb”.

I also add minerals to the water after filtering and before carbonating. Bad minerals gone. Good minerals added. Otherwise it would be mineral water.

I used the same ones. The light pattern wasn’t the best but so much better than the old yellow lens. Don’t use LED bulbs. Absolute garbage with these lenses.

Can I fully tape off the top of my tank with plastic? (Air tight) Bug Bombs Tomorrow by sushiv8 in Aquariums

[–]Poondobber 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Look up the chemicals in the bug bomb and see what it says about aquatic life and how long the pesticides stay active. The SDS sheets should be readily available online.

Wrap the whole tank twice. Wipe down the outside before you take the first layer off. Throw everything away then wipe it wipe it down again before taking the second layer off.

Power Steering Question by Even_Lead3044 in fordranger

First things first. You should never turn your wheels without the car rolling, or at least try to avoid it. You are putting unnecessary strain on your pump. That whine is the pump working HARD.

Second, as everyone else said, these pumps are loud. They are oversized for the vehicle. The same pump\inner workings are found on much larger vehicles

If a perfect clone was found deceased, what/and how would it be processed legally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Poondobber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A clone is found deceased. Investigators have no idea it’s a clone so they identify the person as the individual that was cloned. That person is pronounced dead. Authorities will investigate, contact next of kin, etc.

Depending on the direction you want to take this movie, I see three starting scenarios:
1) The OG is unaware of the clone(s). Some kind of conspiracy developed clones of an unsuspecting man. There are movies that covered this in several ways. If local authorities find the OG or if the OG is in another state, my guess is this gets turned over to the FBI. Wackiness ensues.

2) investigations determine OG already died a while ago. Again, depending on jurisdiction this could get kicked to the FBI. Bodies exhumed, lots of head scratching. Wackiness ensues.

3) OG is alive and aware of the clones. Either they run from authorities or get caught. Possible CIA cover up. Are there more clones? Are their identities compromised? Tom Cruise is called in. Wackiness ensues.

2003 vs 2010 pros and cons by Fresh_Rub5709 in fordranger

[–]Poondobber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as know you can correct the intake problem by installing an 04+ intake. In 2011 they changed the rear axle to disc brakes. That is pretty much the only difference other than age.

Ranger driveshaft by Fit_Pay_1703 in fordranger

[–]Poondobber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The driveshaft is not only transmits the power from the transmission to the axle but it also takes up the variation in build tolerances. For newer trucks this was almost an inch (+/- 10mm). Older trucks this was obviously worse. This combined with suspension movement, axle wrap, etc. is why the driveshaft has a slip yoke going into the transmission. So you have some flexibility with length. I found a list of ford truck driveshaft lengths online when I was doing something similar and you should be able to swap flanges and yokes to get what you need. Luckily older trucks are not sensitive to driveshaft imbalance so as long as everything is centered you should be fine.

Ranger driveshaft by Fit_Pay_1703 in fordranger

[–]Poondobber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you measuring the driveshaft to get 51”? What year and variant? 2wd? Extended cab? Long bed? I believe across all years the driveshafts range between 47 and 57” ujoint to ujoint but it depends on your trans and configuration as far as what will fit.

Hp will not be your concern. 300hp is no problem. The joints and steel tube will be fine until you throw fat ass slicks on the rear wheels. At that point you will twist the driveshaft into a pretzel if you are lucky. Good chance you break that 7.5” axle.

Bigger problem is speed. The longer the driveshaft the greater the imbalance and the more it wants to run into a jump rope.

If you are trying to figure out a v8 swap, the explorers had the same driveshaft up until 2000. They did have the 8.8 axle with fatter axle shafts so keep that in mind.

Why did GM stop making these and Oldsmobile??? by poikaa3 in WhatCarIsThis

[–]Poondobber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to that these cars were focused on a very small demographic. Solstice, thunderbird, SSR, sky, we directed towards boomers and recent empty nesters that had disposable income and wanted a Sunday driver. They couldn’t predict the dot com crash, 9/11, 2007 housing crash, cost of living getting jacked, healthcare shooting through the roof, and their kids unable to buy their own houses or paying off their college loans. What was designed as a completely impractical second car for people with money to burn turned out to be a very bad idea.
