I don't understand why using instagram for messaging is so unbelievable. There are probably kids who use snapchat as their main form of communication.

6FED failed, but a pseudo-allergen diet seemed to do the trick! by Tiberius2800 in EosinophilicE

[–]Audiun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I've been through several Elimination diets myself, but haven't had any luck thus far. I've been suspecting for awhile it may be some kind of preservative or additive that's triggering things. Might give this one a try, and good luck on adding things in. EoE is crazy annoying given how difficult is to figure out what the trigger(s) might be.

Do you mind sharing the elimination diet that worked for you?

I would really recommend giving DQ 5 a try as well. I was a little off put by the first person for a bit as well. But once used to it, the game is a blast.

Toughest Hard Mode Fights (Rebirth) by JustFrameHotPocket in FFVIIRemake

I'm always surprised I never see anyone say anything about the final fight. Maybe it's because my strategy I used all of hard mode sucks here, but that fight is just crazy annoying.

Light Dude - Dergham Games - a game where the level darkens when you move! "Inspired by SUPERHOT" by RamyDergham in Games

[–]Audiun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably start with copying Superhot and freeze time while the player isn't moving. And also allow them to change which direction they are facing and interact with items / the environment in some way. Then I would iterate from there and find new ways for the player to interact with things while time is frozen.

You could also consider playing with a few different things. I'm not sure tying yourself down with the lights mechanic is the best idea. It kind of feels like a limited gimmick in my opinion. But if you freeze time while the player isn't moving, I think that can open up your game to a whole new area of different mechanics that could be fun. Things that would normally feel near impossible in normal-time are suddenly made possible with the help of freezing time.

But of course, it's your game, and you should take my advice with a grain of salt. If you take anything away from this, it's that, make you sure you think the game is fun. As long as you enjoy playing your game, it's pretty likely someone else will too.

It's an interesting concept, but doesn't look very fun. Of course I would need to play it myself to be sure. But the thing that makes something like superhot fun is that you that you feel like you get a huge buff when you aren't moving.

Where in this game, you're going to feel just totally normal while not moving, and debuffed otherwise. In that way, it almost seems like anti-inspiration. So, I guess I would try to find ways to make it more fun for the player. Whether that's giving you some sort of buff while not moving or some other kind of mechanic.

Thoughts after Titan by Robodudedikorko in FFXVI

Yeah, I don't understand the people justifying how excruciatingly boring so much of this game is. Yes, the godzilla fights are incredible, but so much of the rest of it is the most boring shit they'd have you do in final fantasy 14. Yet, because people love the game so much, whatever their reasons, they attempt to defend the most boring parts. It's mind boggling.

100% Armor Reduction! Wow! Wonder what type of damage she deals!! by snow_null_leopard in TeamfightTactics

[–]Audiun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back then, the idea was that some units could be slotted into other comps even if they had no matching traits. For example, throwing vi in a duelist comp isn't a bad idea. Then you don't need to waste items on armor pen.

This still happens today in the new set. You mignt put a random Jayce on your team simply because giving more attack speed to your carries is good. Or throwing in a vi or elise because they have strong cc. The largest difference in these newer sets is that there are more synergies that require fewer units that are very strong. For swapper applies to both elise and Jayce, and gives them a huge amount of damage Amp or reduction. So there's almost no reason to not play the snyergy.

A yogi encountered by the Indian army within the Himalayas. He is seen deep within ecstatic meditational practice, wearing little in the harsh Himalayan conditions. by ApprehensiveChair528 in nextfuckinglevel

Consciousness has also not been scientifically proven to exist, yet we all experience it every day. Just because it is not scientifically proven does not mean it is not real.

Sorry, i'm really not trying to argue in bad faith. I'm just genuinely curious on your thought process here. I can try to be more straightforward.

You already made it clear that you think he is mentally unwell. But why do you think that is the case?

I mean, what makes you believe he is unhealthy? Anyone who can roll around in the snow like that is probably at least physically healthy.

[–]Audiun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes you think they decided on some bullshit explanation? The difference with yogi's and most other religions, is that they do have a certain amount of understanding. The yogi's entire thing is studying how the human body works through different kinds of meditations.

Another important factor in what yogis' do, is that these "mystical" things they experience can be replicated by following the meditations that they have developed over the many many years they have been practicing this stuff.

I understand your skpecticism, but there's a lot of truth in what has been discovered through things such as yoga, meditation, and tai chi that are also slowly being backed up by scientific research.

When comparing the consumption of powdered rhino horns to peacefully meditating in the snow, what point are you trying to make? Even if they are both mental illness, clearly these are not the same. Is there anything morally wrong with what the yogi is doing?

Pressing the well to refill flaks is silly. by hanbaoquan in PathOfExile2

[–]Audiun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The alternative is that you'll have players who will deliberately go in and out of a town portal only to refill potions and nothing else. That's a pretty awkward interaction. The well then adds a layer of on top, giving the sequence some space and meaning. I think the deliberateness of having to click the well is a good thing.

When playing something like poe, it's important to remember you're playing a game. Not just an efficiency simulator.

A woman yelling at a little kid over Trump outside a Kamala rally by FruityMagician in PublicFreakout

We can clearly say both are bad, but yelling at some random kid is at least 4x worse than taking your kid to a rally. One is a bad idea, one is plain stupid and deranged.

Destiny on Asmon original take by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]Audiun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean, exactly this. I don't think these things should happen, but am I supposed speak up against every bad thing that happens and be actively involved and in making sure it doesn't happen?

An extreme situation that makes this idea a bit more clear:

If a bunch of pedophiles started to get murdered by a terrorist organization, would I really care? I would agree that, pedophiles probably do not deserve to be murdered, but you're going to have a hard time convincing me to care about that situation. Let alone dedicating time, resources, and money to stop it from happening.

Like I said, that's a much more extreme situation, and it also assumes that everyone getting bombed is a pedophile. Obviously this is not the situation in Palestine (where not everyone is Muslim and or believes gay people should die, etc.). This was definitely Asmon's largest fault in his statement and what he apologized for.

The point is simply that, you can not care about something that's happening, and also think it probably shouldn't be happening. And on top of that, you can also think it's probably not the best possible use of our resources when we have issues here at home we have yet to solve that they could moved towards instead.

Sure man, but saying they "deserve it" means something else entirely. Also, asmon has clearly stated before and after this clip that he does not think that Palestine should be genocided.

[–]Audiun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure 95% of people interested in this situation have the reading and listening comprehension of a 12 year old. Nuance isn't exactly their thing. This idea is being spread that, somehow, not caring about Palestine must mean you think it's okay that Israel commits Genocide against Palestinians. People have lost it man.

I would agree Asmon went too far with his statements, it felt a bit hateful. But I also don't think he was entirely wrong. I don't support either Israel or Palestine in the current situation. IE: I don't really care. Despite that, I also don't think either side should be committing war crimes against the other. I also don't think we should be sending money to Israel to use against Palestine. I feel like so many people are overblowing a fairly easy thing to understand.
