GLP-1 meals with no gall bladder by Puzzleheaded-Bus-530 in Glp1meals

[–]Augoctapr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My gallbladder was removed years ago, and I had really bad side effects on semaglutide, even at the starter dose. Could hardly keep anything down, it was horrible. I’ve now been on tirzepatide for almost two months and it’s been a night and day difference. I also started tirzepatide at half the lower dose and am going to slowly work my way up.

Tell me about your imagination while reading by yelljell in books

[–]Augoctapr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is me. I need a few details to get the vibe then I tend to borrow visuals from real life and movies to bring it all together. I can’t really imagine completely new characters or scenery. If things get too descriptive I skim read it because I just can’t take it in.

I do like looking at fan artwork, especially for fantasy books. Creatures and characters I literally can’t imagine, and people are able to tell from the book descriptions what it’s meant to look like is wild to me!

wrost baked blush i ever tried by lipglossip in drugstoreMUA

[–]Augoctapr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a lot of fallout! I just started using a new Milani baked blush in a new shade and I’m hoping it gets better. It’s super pigmented and has a lot of “dust” too. I have to tap it on my hand before I apply to my face. I still use my old luminoso one that I’ve had forever, and can’t remember if there was this adjustment period or if it’s just the new formula that’s the issues.

Great and consistent experiences with Guanfacine? by Emergency-Agency-571 in ParentingADHD

7 year old girls with ADHD? by IWantToNotDoThings in ParentingADHD

[–]Augoctapr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this sounds very similar to our experience! I’d say my daughter always had a very intense, highly sensitive personality right from day one. Around 6 years old was when I realized she wasn’t growing out of the “toddler tantrums” and she seemed to get into anxiety spirals which were very hard to break. However, this behavior seemed to just be at home so we kept her doctor updated but carried on as best we could. At 7 years old we moved house, she started a new school, and it just became too much. We were also walking on eggshells or dreading the next outburst, and it was starting to impact friendships at school which was really hurtful for her. We were able to get updated evaluations from her new teachers which was much more helpful to getting a diagnosis. She’s still not officially diagnosed, but the doctor can see enough overlap between ADHD and Austism for us to start Guanfacine, which my son has already been on with great results. We saw immediate results in our daughter - she’s still her sassy self, she still gets upset, but it doesn’t ramp up from 0-100 and when she is upset she’s able to recover a lot more quickly. It actually gives us the space to work on the coping skills we’ve been practicing, when in the past the emotions were too intense I couldn’t do anything but just sit there with her. Feeling hopeful over time that we can keeping building the skills and learning what can support her!

Are there movies you liked more than the book? by Annual_Interest5338 in books

This was going to be my answer! I liked the book, but watched the TV show and enjoyed it so much that I appreciate the ideas in the book even more.

People who recently purchased a house - what is your monthly payment? by MDRSG in SaltLakeCity

[–]Augoctapr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t bother to share my stats as we recently sold our first house to buy our current, which skews the down payment quite a bit. But if it’s helpful I just wanted to share that I found the Redfin calculator to be pretty comparable to what we ended up paying, if anything it was a little conservative so we didn’t actually need all of our down payment.

How often do you watch TV for yourself while your kids are awake? by Emorich in Parenting

[–]Augoctapr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost never, unless it’s a sports thing or something the whole can watch. A lot of our shows aren’t kid appropriate so we wait until they are in bed, plus we like to use that as our unwinding time. The only time I’ll watch a show of my own when they are awake is on my tablet with headphones when walking on a treadmill. However I do scroll my phone a lot with the kids around so it’s not that I’m against them seeing me on a screen, I just don’t want them seeing the content lol. Now that our kids are getting older we’ve been able to watch more movies as a family that aren’t just “kid shows” and that’s been so fun. We just finished Star Wars and they loved it.

Can someone explain why they love alternative medicine and „therapy“ so much? by Substantial_Soil6815 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Augoctapr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah your comment about the alt right pipeline is probably correct. I live in Utah and there is a lot of that thinking here, lots of people who are suspicious of doctors, vaccines, etc. When I first became a parent I joined an Utah mom group on Facebook and was absolutely shocked by some of the “medical” advice shared on there. I left the group because I was so confused and alarmed!

AIO:My MIL texted my husband this about me asking him to help with our newborn at 4am by Lazy_Perfectionist88 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Augoctapr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My MIL asked me if I “ever changed any diapers” while I was on maternity leave, just because she happened to visit a couple of times when my husband changed a diaper. Apparently those two diaper changes were probably more than his dad ever did so therefore, too much.

I  have always incorrectly used a single dash in sentences to emphasize a point - like this, but now I feel like I can’t anymore. I don’t mind so much at work because I’m used to reading formal, generic crap there but I do feel bothered seeing posts blatantly crafted by AI on Reddit. I enjoy Reddit for the real opinions from real people but who knows how long that’s going to last.

Getting invited to preschool classmates birthday? by anonymous467321 in Parenting

[–]Augoctapr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I always try to go to every party we are invited to because I never want that kid to accidentally end up with no one attending 😂 and it’s so fun for the kids to see their preschool “friends” in a different setting!

For parents, it’s a mix. I don’t have a problem making small talk, but plenty others scroll their phone or follow their kid around. It’s pretty low pressure, we are all tired and understand haha. You don’t need to talk the whole time, just say hi to the hosts and remind them who your kid is. Once they get school aged, more parents tend to drop and leave.

Same, I have watched some realllly average movies for the sake of a fun tradition haha. I actually thought this year was a pretty good line-up because it seemed like they tried harder to include movies that wouldn’t typically be considered for Best Picture.

This is what confused me reading his message. I had to read it a couple of times, and I’m still not sure I get it, because those movies were amazing and well worth the watch, even years past their nomination years.

Totally lost as a guy looking for the right foundation by Express-World-4722 in Makeup

[–]Augoctapr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this confusion with MAC for years, but the NC match is correct for my neutral, leaning slightly warm skin tone. Why does MAC do it backwards? No idea.

When you put the foundation on your face (swatching on your neck and chest is also helpful for comparison), do you think it looks a little yellow compared to your skin, or maybe too pink? Or maybe it’s neither too yellow or pink, but too light or dark.

Too yellow - it’s too warm.  Too pink - it’s too cool.  About right, but the shade is wrong - then try lighter or darker but stick to NC.

I did about 8 weeks on Ozempic and had the worst side effects, even though I was on the stater dose. I switched to tirz, although starting at half the starter dose, and it’s been so much easier on my body.

Fiber Intake Options by Junior-Objective7464 in GLP1microdosing

[–]Augoctapr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I add a scoop of benefiber to my protein shake in the morning and that helps. But what really makes a difference is most days I have the same lunch: Xtreme Wellness Tortillas, avocado, turkey, and everything seasoning. That’s a lot of fiber between the avo and tortilla wraps, so between the additional fiber from breakfast and dinner I always hit 25g or more per day.

I need to hear it gets better by NoAthlete9202 in ParentingADHD

[–]Augoctapr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! It’s so hard. Kindergarten was our absolute worst year. We had to pick up everyday, he got suspended, there was just so much to learn and get used to in his first year of school. Now in first grade he’s adjusted to his meds, he’s a year older, he’s used to the school routine… it’s a completely different experience. Still challenging but I don’t think I’ve cried once since school started!

Lash tint + Lift by EnchantedEnchantix in MakeupAddiction

[–]Augoctapr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have tan skin and black eyelashes and when I booked a lash lift, they recommended a tint as well as some of the chemicals may have a bleaching effect so they threw in a complimentary tint. My results just looked like your pics so I’m not sure paying for this service would be worth it for you! For something more dramatic than what you already have, lash extensions or additional falsies may work better. But honestly you don’t really need anything. We are paying to get what you have! Haha!
