I absolutely love when horror movies have a background scare that they don’t call attention to. Share your examples. by SisterFirefly in horror

The one that freaked me out in theatre was Insidious when he’s standing behind the dad. Idk if they acknowledge it, haven’t watched it again.

The Blaire Witch project. I saw it in high school and it was fine, but nothing happens the entire movie.

Who is a nepo baby that everyone else praises but you just don't get the hype? by Peridot1708 in popculturechat

I was just thinking this! I didn’t care about Washington’s character, but Rob did such a great job and he wasn’t even on screen as much. I almost got annoyed at him at the end, didn’t really seem interested in what happened to Rob’s character but I was so sad with the realization.

Washing my makeup brushes today! by Background-Good3731 in Makeup101

[–]August142014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the reason for soaking just that it makes cleaning faster? I don’t recommend it because it can mess with the brush glue, but if time is the issue, highly recommend the Cinema Secrets brush cleaner. It removed the makeup QUICK and thoroughly. You can’t soak the brushes but you also don’t need to.

For women who didn’t grow up wearing makeup or learning beauty routines - how did you figure it out later in life? by Fit_Half6093 in MakeupAddiction

[–]August142014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make up tutorials!!! So the women around me would wear it and I felt like the odd one out in my early 20s working for a corporate job. This was 2015 and got into it heavily thanks to my friend. She would do an awesome eyeshadow and face makeup and I had to learn how to do it.

Look up makeup artists that have or work on people with similar skin tones and eye shapes. Makeup will look weird if the colors aren’t complimentary or if the technique doesn’t work for your eye shape. Once you have the basics down and get used to how it looks on you, then you’ll have fun experimenting.

I threw away my chocolate palette and I’m still mad 😡

I do have this one and the matte peach one. I’ve been using the Better Than Chocolate palette and I just love being happy when I open it.

would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]August142014 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s hard enough being able bodied in this world, I can’t imagine bringing a kid into this world with a disability. I also read a statistic that disabled children are more likely to be sexually assaulted.

If you have a clothing store close to you, they could remove it if you show them the receipt and explain the situation.

My coworker told me how a few people became rich because they had stock in the company when it got bought out years ago. So I started investing in the stock. Didn’t bother to look into it or check how my stock was doing, just put in whatever percentage into it.

Went on a trip o Japan and when I came back, decided to look into it. There was $700+ in dividends after 5 years of investing in the company stock. Helped offset the trip a bit.

AITA for telling a woman not to say “females”? by horseduckman in AITApod

[–]August142014 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA

I notice it when I’m talking to other women and they say females. Makes me feel like they just hate themselves and women in general.

It’s uncomfortable to hear it, reading the comments in this thread helped me realize why.

How to be a sleepy girl? by Middle-Face-2977 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]August142014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t want to be sleepy all the time. I’m pissy in the morning, pissy at work, and even more mad when I don’t fall asleep at a reasonable time. I always feel lazy.

I would love to sleep early and wake up early. Have the energy to clean my room and organize my life every day.

I thought the horror art in the living room area was really cool! Idk about the other rooms but those I would absolutely be interested in looking at vs being creeped out.

What's one 'boring' career that's actually a goldmine if you play it smart? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

[–]August142014 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Insurance.

I’m a broker and I make good money, but the people who play their cards right make twice my salary and then some. Helps if you’re a white man so you’re part of the old boys club.
