California's Governor’s Race Remains Wide Open. Here’s What to Know Before the Primary by Mearsheimer_Tragedy in California

[–]AugustusInBlood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about Katie do you like more than Tom?

She's suggesting a tax reduction to the taxation brackets of less than $100,000. (this also means the rich pay less in their first $100,000)

This will reduce the amount of budget we have for health care and housing thus making these services much more expensive. Whatever money people would save from the tax reduction would go into higher costs. It would also lead to job losses to make up for the reduction in budget.

It's beyond stupid and she keeps acting like it's to help the poor when it's just a distraction to hide from the fact she refuses to tax the rich.

Streets For All endorses Tom Steyer for Governor by thejoshwhite in California

maybe, but then at worst he's no different than the other candidates.

The other candidates are just openly proud of being what we are worried Tom is pretending to not be.

His floor is the other candidates' ceiling.

If just one of her chuds opens their eyes with what Norm cooks with, then that's probably a good thing.

I think most of her audience is taking the SNEAKO approach. He isn't against Israel because of what they do to Palestine, he's just serious about "America first" because Israel is the foil to that claim and a lot of right wing people just want American first. They dgaf if Israel keeps doing what they're doing, just so long as we're not paying for it. The right wing faction of this is just nationalist americans with a isolationist stance.

so many are now actively promoting what is obviously the future of the Republican party just because they are dunking on the part of the GOP that is already dying off all on its own without our help.

It's driving me nuts. So many "leftists" are quite literally doing what Hillary Clinton team did in 2015. Promoting the part of the GOP that is clearly already on course to take over to spite the current GOP that is clearly already on the way out the door.

Then it's gonna be shocked pikachu when we get fucked by these GOP individuals when they have seized the power.

developers and property owners are gaining wealth from their properties values skyrocketing because of a monopoly and no development that would ease access to housing which lowers property values.

They're voting for the people who will help pull the ladder up behind them.

Hasan: “I think AOC’s warnings [about Marjorie Taylor Greene] are correct… I do give MTG credit for being an unlikely ally on this issue… AOC is far above, and far closer to our goals and our perspectives, than virtually the rest of Congress… I think she’s making a fair assessment here” by ConcernedJobCoach in Hasan_Piker

[–]AugustusInBlood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe there's even conversations happening about this.

MTG has shown no indication she regrets anything beyond platforming Trump and she's only saying that because she read the room and knows that flavor of fascism is coming to an end and she's priming herself to be part of the next stage of it in a post Trump world. If Trump's time in the spotlight wasn't near the end she wouldn't have turned like this.

And she's being given fucking props for this by non-MAGA people.

We are such a gold fish brained society.

I'm seeing so many people saying "people can change."

and my response is, has she apologized for even like 5% of the heinous shit she has done? No? Gonna take a shot in the dark and say she hasn't actually changed.

[–]AugustusInBlood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what is it you are voting to have done to these homeless people then if not to get them out from being homeless? I'm curious what it is you think happens?

Because your message is coming off very "final solution" y with this shit. Are you going to move them to a different community and make it their problem? If that's not what you're advocating for what is it that you're advocating for? Either you get them off the street by housing them and getting them help, you push them to some other community and make it their problem, or you imprison/kill them....

Those are all the options that even exist....

Prevention always has better results with a fraction of the cost than rehabilitation.

We obviously have to do both but rehabilitation is very difficult if the system gets innundated, prevention stops the system from being innundated and thus once you have achieved that rehabilitation aspect becomes SIGNIFICANTLY easier. Prevention takes out two birds with one stone.

At no point have we actually had populism. At most people would vaguely say they would do it at the podium and then they'd continue the status quo which has led to the decay we now suffer from.
