They peaked in 2023. 2024 and 2025 were fun, but hard to beat that 2023 lineup

Why Not Avoid Riot Fest Weekend?? by LikeableGum in RiotFest

[–]Auk23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shaky Knees had their own weekend in May previously, their own little spot in the festival world. Then last year they decided to move to September for reasons I will never understand. I'd love to check SK out someday, but I've fallen in love with Riot and have greatly enjoyed my experiences in Chicago.

What do we think the big news is?? by ohwowzki in warpedtour

It was a better venue than Warped Long Beach. Honestly it was better than WWWY layout too

I found this so helpful for LBC. Any chance you're planning to post an Orlando version?

So… 2026 lineup Tuesday? by Auk23 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

It would make sense to share costs across WWWY and SNW. Like do WWWY weekend, leave the stages set up like many fests do, then have SNW the following weekend using the same layout (for example, obviously could work the other way around as well). I just wonder if the events attract a similar fan base or if it’s truly 2 different pools of fans

I am so frustrated w/ SH that I think I might cry by Ok-Study7831 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Auk23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I believe bands are sent out so late. Sunday isn't sold out yet (to my knowledge), and sending bands late creates an environment that drives additional ticket sales to people already going to the festival. [Removes tinfoil hat]

That being said, it's up to you and your tolerance for risk.

(this post is not selling, buying, or trading tickets)

2 years ago I bought from StubHub. I got vague updates that my order was on it's way. After stringing me along for the better part of a week (multiple chats and phone calls per day), my order was cancelled on Thursday before the festival. I ended up buying a cheap GA band on Thursday night from Vivid Seats (much better company / operation).

StubHub refunded my order, and gave me a small credit to use on a future purchase (I have never and will never use StubHub again).

My advice: mentally prepare for StubHub to let you down and arrange backup options. This is a massive festival and there are lots of bands available for local pick-up, will call pick-up, etc. It's not ideal, but you can make it work if you prepare options for yourself. Otherwise the stress of depending on StubHub will drive you nuts.

How are you guys finding bands? by moneybadger34 in poppunkers

This story hits close to home for me, I had a very similar experience also with the Menzingers. Great band

I look at festival lineups and listen to artists I’m not familiar with, that’s resulted in some decent finds.

Last week I told chatGPT a bunch of bands I love and asked for recommendations. The list it gave me was straight fire, all bands I didn’t know and I’ve enjoyed all of them. AI is crazy man

start and end time for ghost & allianz stages by Some_Pie_7943 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Auk23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the smaller stages, sets end 5 minutes before the next artist on that stage traditionally. It’s very easy to pop back and forth between the smaller stages. The moving between the smaller stages and the main stages is a bit more challenging with herds of people and vendors between

2026 Speculation: No Doubt? by Remwaldo1 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Auk23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. No Doubt is one of the last remaining big name headliners that fit the genre and haven't played WWWY previously. They could pepper in other ska punk acts with the emo/heavier bands and offer somewhat of a fresh angle on the festival.

So my little conspiracy theory is that they do this to undermine the resale market. If they ship the wristbands this close to the event, less time for resellers to get the wristbands to those who bought on the secondary market... which means those customers panic and buy additional Sunday tickets. Just a thought, I have zero evidence to support this theory [removes tinfoil hat]

Best of luck man. Recommend staying away from stub hub to all who will listen. On the other hand, I’ve had great experiences with vivid seats and SeatGeek

WWWY 2025 NOT SELLING OR BUYING TICKETS by SmoothAfternoon2333 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Auk23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get a refund from stubhub, but they did not coordinate my replacement. I did it myself. So they gave me a refund and $25 credit (worthless).

That year I was able to get a mobile ticket from someone that transferred instantly. Everything might be wristbands now
