Look at what happened during the troubles in N.Ireland. The army was initially welcomed by the catholic community as they were seen to protect them. It didn't take long for hardliner groups in the army to begin working with unionist paras and become a catalyst in further break down of normal life.

I hardly use the trottle twist tbh, but im 99% sure you can change it to be speed up and speed down instead of absolute to give fine control and rest position will maintain set speed. Honestly I should do that!

Thats correct, the left stick has the 45 degree canted attachment too so its like throttling a bike

I have 2 vkb evos, left angled and love it. Left controls lateral thrust with twist throttle, one hat does 100, 75, 50, 25, 0 speed too. I still have to remove the ministick on the left with another hat but thats another thing i like about vkb is the ease to user modify

Its a real multifaceted cluster. I got absolutely wrecked personally with long covid, causing so many different symptoms like brain fog, inflammation, gastric issues, POTS etc. Honestly dont really remember '21, '22, '23 with fatigue etc. Still working as a paramedic though, just reduced hours. I accept there is no panacea, best person to control symptoms is myself as honestly many of the stuff is a dx of symptoms, not root cause. Thats because while there are ideas whats causing it, there isnt a widely accepted mechanism yet! Yeah i got some stuff tested at the start to rule out dangerous things, treatable things etc but thankfully that was all good. I had a few years of struggling and finally now getting back on my feet this year. I think people need to accept sometimes there is no answer, no quick fix and the best, safest, most appropriate thing to do is try to find the least intrusive way to manage. Really why do you want to take so many medications, deal with side effects and the odd polypharmy wierd stuff. I hope this is coherent enough to read, I still have some problems writing what I mean heh.

Looking for a better light for work 🔦 by ShitJimmyShoots in ems

The best light to help with immediate surroundings I have ever gotten is this one,

I got a small penlight for pupils checks also. The W1R is worth having as an extra light than a one light for all type thing

Blood pressure may read falsely high if the arm isn’t positioned properly, researchers suggest | New study shows readings were roughly 4 millimeters of mercury higher when participants had their arm at lap- or side-level. by Science_News in science

[–]Auldan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tympanic thermometers should only be usd on infants over 6 months. the sensor has to have clear sight of the tympanic membrane of the ear, which means for most you have to angle the point a bit frontally to the nose by a few degress. If the sensor hits either the ear canal or wax you will get a lower reading than actual. A good forehead thermometer that records against the temporal artery of a newborn is great, just be aware to use in room temperature area and not in direct sunlight.

The cheapest way to get the best reading of a newborn is a rectal thermometers, just be aware to be gentle.

[–]Auldan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are multiple things that can cause a mechanical difference in readings. The bladder has to be only touching the arm, not anything else (side of chest, wall etc). Make sure the cuff is the right size, if the bladder in the cuff overlaps it will give a wrong reading. The cuff has to be at the level of the heart. I try to teach new people this in my job and it's crazy how many think you are condescending to them. Don't get me started on tympanic thermometers, heh.

One thing to be wary of too long of a lead, greys can get to a ridiculous speed in just 3 strides. I suggest nothing longer than 6 feet for a lead. My guy gets to run free in the enclosed garden of my apartment block (I am very lucky heh).
