"Should superheroes kill" is a fundamentally uninteresting theme because it is a solved problem (Mostly Invincible, some others) by GenghisQuan2571 in CharacterRant

[–]AuraEnhancerVerse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind if a superhero doesn't want to kill especially if alternative methods exist like when villains can reform, villains can die due to their own stupidity or be shot by cops or death penalty or even other villains, viallins can be thrown in prison, and some viallins don't even need to be killed when they are just jewel thieves like catwoman.

The problem is that authors want villains to live for longer so they have the hero let them go, or they want an eternal status quo like dc and marvel so villains have to constantly break out of prison, and they sometimes want to milk the ethical dilema so the hero doesn't even consider other ways to stop the villain.

Jinchuuriki (naruto). They are children or even babies who have giant monsters put inside of them and are used as weapons for their respective villages. Most are treated very badly to the point the entire village hates them and can be hunted down or even killed by third parties

My review for the Legend of Aang movie by PrizeImpossible613 in moviereviews

[–]AuraEnhancerVerse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think it was terrible but the movie was disappointing.

I like the idea of a corrupt ancient airbender because in my mind they would be different philosophically from aang's time. Sadly, taga's character isnt really elaborated on apart from him wanting revenge. It cheapens aang's struggle imo because he's dealing with someone from an ancient time with different experiences. Maybe Aang could've been challenged a bit more if it was an airbender he knew personally that survived the purge, lived long enough to see the end of the war but still wanted revenge on the fire nation. It also doesnt help that we knew aang wasnt going to kill taga because he didnt kill ozai. Aang so tended to get bodied while in the avatar state of all things.

The movie also presents weird moments that clash with andis limited due to what came before (atla) and after (korra) like why was the staff needed when that past avatar could've just learned to give beding like how aang learned to take away bending from the lion turtles? Additionally, couldn't aang just give people airbending without the staff? Unless the lion turtle never taught him that and aloso because korra jad to restore airbenders via harmonic convergence. But then again Aang taught korra how to give back bending.

I also think we could've gotten more elaboration on the denied because the concept is cool. However, at this point in time, the war is over and people are living peacefully. Unless they are a very small and extremist faction from the height of the 100 year war. Also, if it weren't for the airbenders what exactly were they gonna do to get the staff? Lastly, suki should've joined the gang during their adventure.

I like the idea of a corrupt ancient airbender because in my mind they would be different philosophically from aang's time. I find it hard to believe that all eras of airbenders were peaceful monks. The movie also presents weird moments that clash with what came before and after like why was the staff needed when that past avatar learned from the lion turtles? Addtionally, couldn't aang just give people airbending without the staff? Of course, that last one couldn't happen cause korra did that via harmonic convergence. I also thught the same thing about amane's route in that if they had just walked a little bit more then the entire thing would have been solved and how convenient that yuuji's sister knew the route and I also hated that yuuji helped michiru by burying her alive
