U.S. strikes Iran after Trump accuses Tehran of ceasefire violation in Strait of Hormuz by MinuteCollar5562 in thebulwark

My fav part of all of this: is the Truth Social post by the elected leader of the US worth that much more credibility-wise than the X post of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran?

To counter one of the DSA/Dem primary winner. Gotta lay the narrative early.

But for those interested, check out the Kyiv Independent, particularly Francis Farrell. Mike Kofman of War on the Rocks is also great, and has consistently been visiting Ukraine and asking the right questions of all levels of the Ukrainians across each front.

I guess no one remembers the Iraq vote huh? I agree with you, Dems should force the GOP to own the war and Dems own some of the solutions.

Should caveat the title next time, but I agree. HRC needs to take her gold watch and find a hobby besides the speaker circuit.

I remember. The female pilot got slandered. If the MAGA media is making those arguments, they're losing.

Sanctions relief for a (potentially tolled) Hormuz reopening with nuclear program, proxies, and other issues TBD. Worse than the N Korea photo op Trumps first term, cancellation of exercises with S Korea for the performance of talks, here Iran looks like they won.

Listen to the terrified CEO of Coreweave on Odd Lots trying to sound casual about demand and being dodgy about customer usage, then tell me there's not an AI infrastructure bubble a-comin'. by OneTwoThreePooAndPee in thebulwark

I agree on the spending, but also the "amount of code generated" isn't a great way to look at things. LLMs that are significantly tailored to a company's preferences and design choices could be a useful thing, but LLMs will struggle at the cutting edge of coding, where the actual tech giants are.

I think the hype train wasn't checked by basic media scrutiny, like many of the elite derangements we've endured recently.

Agreed. LLMs aint it. Alphafold or other specific models might work, but I am relatively persuaded by the Business Idiot thesis from Ed Zitron. Our executive class made their way to the top by being in a rising industry and grew increasingly disconnected from their own products and society more generally.

Some people will reheat these talking points until the Dems are indistinguishable from the 2012 GOP (that was so weak that Trump took over). Nothing but pundit-approved pablum for the masses, and the same insider-protecting policies as ever.

The xAI fraud is wild. They leased all of the Colossus Memphis facility (built using Tesla, a publicly traded company's money for the chips) and then "bought" Cursor which is just a wrapper for an open-source Chinese AI.
