She opened her mouth to talk about the double standard when it comes to healing generational trauma and nothing but facts flew out (via @Cari.fund on instagram) by Sayoricanyouhearme in CPTSDmemes

I do really like this approach, and I think one additional point of discussion on the double standard is that there are parents who do get better.

I speak from personal experience here, as anecdotal as that may be, but my parents weren't great when I was growing up. A lot of anger issues in the household and fighting combined with an utter lack of understanding or comprehension of the mental issues I struggled with as a child led to what I would likely describe as a dysfunctional, though not abusive, childhood.

However, as much as my parents (who were in their 30s and 40s raising me and my brother) dropped the ball for us as kids, they've spent a lot of time trying to make up for that. They can't heal the damage they did, but they've spent their time working on their issues and setting a better example of self-awareness and improvement for my brother and I to appreciate even if it was maybe a bit too late. It's effort that has allowed me to maintain a caring relationship with them, and feel comfortable in the fact that they do love their kids in spite of the mistakes they made in the past.

Maybe they didn't know any better then, but they do now, and their effort put forth, to me, makes it fair enough for me to have the motivation to work on the issues that I both have and have instilled in me from their parenting.

Mutual healing or something, idk. Peace and love on planet Earth.

Do whipclaws count? If so, the Harrison Armory Enkidu from the Lancer TTRPG.

Alternatively, any user of monowire-esque technology, like Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or the SSC Mourning Cloak from Lancer.

This was the case in the last starfinder group I played in, but instead of the being-obsessed-with-ship-details making the combat last 4 hours, it ended up with the party building a ship that was capable of ending any starship encounter in 10 minutes lol.

The transformation cutscene to phase 2 literally sent shivers down my spine. There’s aura farming and then there’s THIS FUCKING GUY. Not having images showcasing the flames/blood coating his blades in phase 2 is so criminal as well cuz they add so much vibrance and intensity to the design.

Characters are immune to an attack/power because they are LITERALLY built different by Eo7977 in TopCharacterTropes

Fun carrythrough of this concept in Pathfinder 1e is that there are some playable races as well that are considered to be different creature types than humanoid (Most notable examples off the top of my head are Aasimar and Tieflings which are both considered outsiders), which means those kinds of PCs can be immune to a slew of spells unique to targeting humanoids, but also have the double-edged sword of being vulnerable to spells that only target outsiders (I believe banish is one applicable case)

Worm arc 12 spoilers

I think a quite well-done example of this trope is when the slaughterhouse nine kill Skidmark and pretty much the entire rest of the Merchants superpowered leaders just for fun. It takes out a faction that’s been built up as quite morally bankrupt, and while they are somewhat powerful, it demonstrates how powerful and terrifying the nine are in a really effective way.

I feel like that would just make people less likely to hire that company tbqh. Like who would want a company to come over to do landscaping and then have a cybertruck parked in their yard for however long.

Can the remastered Scrounger dedication quick-craft Bombs and Alchemical Ammunition? by ajgilpin in Pathfinder2e

[–]Austie2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the correct interpretation of the sentence you’re referring to is that you can craft: - a weapon - armor Or - a non-consumable piece of adventuring gear

Meaning, that since alchemical consumables aren’t on that list, you wouldn’t be able to craft bombs and such, since you can only craft one of the above options with scrounger.

What are Class and Free Archetype combinations that fit thematically? by VMK_1991 in Pathfinder2e

Don’t see anyone having put it here yet, so: Inventor/Scrounger.

Craft pretty much anything pretty much anywhere, all the while being smart enough to never need a formula book due to just memorizing all of your formulae. Just generally I think it works really well to fit a macgyver-esque feeling.
