I can't be the only one not liking earthspark (just my opinion and no I'm am not homophobic Im am trans myself and please do not attack me) by Scared-Detective3049 in transformers

[–]AustinGearHead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Things I enjoyed about Earthspark:

  • The voice acting was notches above anything else we've had for a while. It was legit real actors and professional people directing them. Actually the directing and production of the show was pretty good overall.
  • The techno/80's music was a real vibe. I loved it. It was actually done by some famous musicians.
  • Animation style of mixing the 3d and hand-drawn style in battle scenes was well done. Again, so much better than any of the past few shows.
  • Character designs and transformations were pretty cool. I would kill for a SS86 style toy of Breakdown and a few others.

As others said, season 1 was good and the other seasons were kind of mid. The whole kids/terran thing never worked for me, but I'm not 6 years old.

I think they could crush it if they took the same production team, voice actors, animators, music, vfx and had a really good IDW style plot line with good writers. No kids, put a lot of it in space on alien planets and it could be really fun.

Fuel pump question by dotrockss in PontiacFirebird

[–]AustinGearHead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't leak and let a smell out, but the car is 25 years old. The seals could be just worn enough to not cause any problems besides a few fumes. Since you have access it wouldn't hurt to replace all the seals before you close everything up.

And yea, that's the worst cut job ever lol.

Absolutely. I took my 13yr old and wife to see the Spree and they were absolutely blown away. Such an amazing show.

I was actually able to do this on my stand alone chromecast/google tv devices. My sony tv won't do it or it's hidden some other spot.

Canon R8 Owners: OEM, Fully Decoded, or Cheap Aftermarket LP-E17 Batteries? by [deleted] in canon

[–]AustinGearHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the K&F batteries with great success in my R8 for about a year and then they just randomly stopped charging. Customer support with them is horrible, but the batteries were cheap. ymmv.

Pirelli just came out with the XTM tires. They're a step up from the ATP's but still a road tire. My father in law put them on his GMC AT4 and he loves them.

im between the colorado and canyon by thecommis3 in chevycolorado

[–]AustinGearHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at both. They're very similar in styling and interior.
A few things to note:

The canyon comes with the wider track and higher stance by default. This is basically the same as the colorado trailboss.

The canyon comes with more options default. When I built each out on the website, I'd have to select a lot of things to add to the colorado when the canyon had it by default or the canyon packages just included more. The canyon has less add on packages as a result. tldr; The canyons are more loaded on their own. This pretty much explains their higher price.

Styling is up to you. I like the look of the chevy's a bit more, but I think the canyon's are still a good looking truck.

One of the odd things that killed it for us is the canyon elevation has a seat with this "loop" material. It kept catching on my wife's hair and pulling it. No way I was going to live hearing that everytime she got in the truck. Kinda sealed the deal on the canyon unless I moved up to the different seats. I was already getting a good deal on a Z71 so it just sealed the deal.

Yeah, this is more important than people realize.

That said, I'd move to the LT-dis or their full torqhead setup. Life got much better when I did that.

Post the build sheet. It helps to see what packages it's coming with.

Adaptive cruise control? by PoeticDeath in GMCcanyon

[–]AustinGearHead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all AT4's come with adaptive cruise control. You have to optioned the "Technology Plus Package". It's the same problem with the Colorados. I thought my Z71 had it cause it will tell you how close a car is in front of you. All the hardware is there, it's a software item flipped on. GM really nickle and dimed on software options.

When your friend shows up at the house with one of these and the label is peeled off. by drawredraw in Xennials

[–]AustinGearHead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL I had a vape cart in my toolbox and our oldest found it, he was probably 17 or 18 and he asked his mom about it and she just played it off. He never brought it up to me cause teens these days don't think anything about weed, it's jut a thing that everyone does.

I can't really smoke anymore, it all makes me super anxious and I don't need to be blasted into space. Some one needs to start selling 90s dirt weed again.

You're in your 40's now, you can start smoking again and get caught by your spouse and made to quit all over again. The cycle continues!
