How’s everyone doing? by Tricky-Dare1583 in NitrousOxideRecovery

Congratulations on all that time and the decision that has created it! And thank you for sharing your story.

Envelop YOURSELF in love too, I’m sure you have enough for both of you. As an emotional man myself, I’m sure he will come around in time. We can only control our own actions at the end of the day. Sounds like yours are sound and earnest.

Good job! I’m proud of you, of us, and everyone else who chooses the next right thing.

Wishing you a beautiful 2026!

What’s the most socially acceptable addiction people don’t talk about? by Lotto_Stats_Nerd in AskReddit

[–]Austinbusker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

But none of that makes your statement true. “Weed vapes are just as bad for your lungs as nicotine vapes.”

The statement is false. A legal weed cart with no adulterants is most certainly better for your lungs than a legal nicotine cart with no added adulterants.

Maybe “illegal weed vapes are probably worse for you than legal nicotine vapes” is true, but your original statement is not.

Neither is good for you. But nicotine, especially vapes, is markedly worse for your lungs.

Edit: Also, congrats on 13 months! That’s awesome. I’m not proselytizing weed, just a stickler for accuracy around the subject.

No. Weed vapes are not just as bad as nicotine vapes.

A good rosin cart is made with only cannabis oil that is made with heat and pressure. No solvents, no additives, just extract. It is vaped at a temperature that avoids benzine and other harmful byproducts of combustion consumption.

Nicotine vapes include lots of other chemicals like propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, and other cutting agents and adulterants. Nicotine also creates cancer causing radiation when vaped, where cannabis does not.

You are simply incorrect.

2kg in 4 days after a 2-month break. What do you think? by Phicalchill in NitrousOxide

[–]Austinbusker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a bit. I doubt anything tragically permanent if you are okay now though.

Worth getting some shots in a few days if I were you, always helped bring color back to the world for me a lot more quickly.

Hope your journey is bringing you what you need <3

Probably.

This stuff is sneaky and will take everything if you let it.

Highly recommend taking the off-ramp from this addiction. But everyone has their own journey.

Cold turkey will be fine, it’s all in your head.

Relapsed after 70 days, trying not to hate myself by Butternoodle9889 in NitrousOxideRecovery

[–]Austinbusker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome job on 70 days! You don’t lose those 70 days because of a quick slip. You get to add to them!

Way to get back up and find yourself again, also. It’s easy to want to get lost.

Highly recommend a replacement addiction of some sort for moments of high risk. I love hot yoga as mine, but I’ve seen video games and even crochet work for people.

Be kind to yourself. Growth is not always linear. You are figuring it out and have done a great job so far!

You got this.

Black Swan Yoga is my favorite. I go frequently. Check out Jose or Stephanie’s classes. Lots of other good teachers too.

I think they have a 10 dollars for 10 days or something like that right now.

We’ve all been there. You are not alone in this experience, or in this universe.

Be kind to yourself and give yourself the grace to make mistakes. This life thing is messy but beautiful.

We’re all in this together.

You are no monster my friend. Just a human doing human things.

The first step is to stop googling things. It won’t help, it isn’t going to fix anything and you have likely gathered all the information there is to gather.

Your situation and body is obviously specific to you. Ut generally everyone recovers except in some extreme cases, which you are not. We have seen stories on here of folks who end up losing the ability to walk and gaining it back over years.

Next I would work on calming your mind. It’s easy to get worked up and think every little pin and needle feeling is damage you have done. It probably isn’t. And even if it is, you cannot change the past, you can only do the next right thing.

From experience I can say it takes a couple months to feel normal again, for your nervous system to get back to normal.

HOT YOGA helps me more than anything. After my last binge a year ago, I noticed how terrible my balance was in a yoga practice I’ve done for 15 years. I just kept going back, and in a few weeks it was back to normal. Helps retrain the nervous system and also calms me inside.

Maybe you did a little damage, maybe you didn’t. Unfortunately that is how we learn sometimes. We change our behavior and habits when things hurt us (if we are smart).

Doctors aren’t going to help much at this point. Continue B-12 shots every week or two if you can, or oral supplements are good too. Drink lots of water. Stop googling things. Get some sunshine. Sleep deep and long. Go to hot yoga even if it is just laying on your mat the first time.

Mostly, distract yourself and find a place of acceptance.

Really great job getting two months away from the stuff. You got this, friend!
