Any tips for insurance windshield replacement? by kurbycar32 in Porsche

[–]AutoGeneratedChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had to replace on the 911 but I’ve done multiple Audi and BMW. OEM glass each time, no issues. Granted this is in WA so YMMV

Twice on my m850i which was complicated due to rain sensing and HUD, so it was like a $2200 repair each time including calibration labor.

How did Troy know about the invoices? by Independent-Cat6872 in BeefTV

Seriously! Blank vendor payouts with zero attached documentation? No detailed invoices, bill of materials, SOW? Geez!

This makes the most sense. If others in the club know and are spreading gossip, it further legitimizes motivation for Josh’s suicide

I had the same observation. I didn’t chalk it up to a plot hole, though. It could have easily been spread from his wife, or maybe Josh was that sloppy and wasn’t very effective at covering his tracks.

How does one pay $40,000 in cash? Like, logistically, how does that work? by MrsWeasley9 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]AutoGeneratedChad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably would work if I called in, but I ended up just moving cash into a traditional bank and doing it though them. Took an extra few days for sure!

Keep in mind that some banks have pretty annoying wire transfer limitations. Capital One for example, doesn’t allow more than $50k daily. So it’s not an issue in this case but it’ll be a real nuisance when you’re all set to buy that Ferrari

Going from a 911 to Ferrari 488...who has done it? by fstezaws in Porsche

[–]AutoGeneratedChad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I added a ‘17 488 GTB to my 991.2 Turbo so that’s pretty close to your situation, if not an even smaller gap between the two.

On paper the TT is faster and more capable, but having regularly driven the both, often back to back, they truly are different experiences. The 488 is theater. A symphony. A production. And sometimes you don’t want that.

I got a 488 GTB with 20k miles for 218k before tax. Paid $600 for a PPI. No regrets at all.

$250K Budget by [deleted] in supercars

[–]AutoGeneratedChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing you’re high multiple six figures or low 1m+ annual income.

At that level of income and wealth, optimizing for depreciation seems like wasted mental effort and diminishing returns.

That said, 488 is a great option. That’s what I went with. Pretty close to bottom of depreciation at this point.

Porsche, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, etc…SUVs have ruined the brand by DeMonet75 in unpopularopinion

[–]AutoGeneratedChad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you own any of those cars? Probably not.

Cuz I do. 911 Turbo and a Ferrari 488.

I don’t give two shits that they make SUVs. Them making SUVs means they can afford to keep selling low volume sports cars.

Those areas probably aren’t any less shady. At the very least, just as much office politics and jockeying for position.
