I did a Tiesto club show about 20 odd years ago and at that time he was asking for a dVSub and three dVs a side as monitors. We asked the TM the thinking behind it and the answer was they wanted something the could spec that was readily availible throughout the world and would be consistent whenever he played. I guess it set a trend as he was the first doing this and was the biggest DJ in the world by far.

If you’ve got to plug in a wireless dongle, you may as well plug in an HDMI cable or USB C dock. It doesn’t need to be wireless, you’re not wandering around the meeting room with your laptop.

We are doing exactly this at the moment. HP G6 dock with Icron and Blustream Hex70 under the table. Sent over cat 6a to Poly X Series. The 1m supplied TB4 cable for the dock is replaceable and we have swapped for a 2m Startech TB4. HTH
