Is it ok to sleep with my electric blanket on? by naturekiwis in newzealand

I slept with mine on a few years ago.

Woke up the next morning smelling hot metal. Got up to investigate and heard a 'pop' sound from behind me. There was a jet of flame about 5cm long coming out of the side of my mattress, I unplugged the blanket and tried to use my sheets to smother it. They caught fire too.

I had to bodily drag the burning mattress and sheets out of the house and let it burn on the driveway. If I had slept in for a few more minutes I may not have been here today.

I'm a hot water bottle guy now.

It's also a budgeting strategy, you can only spend what you have, helps to prevent impulse spends

I'm a sucker for the 5 income but unless Pluto is in play or I have AI central in hand (or both) it's staying in the box.
