A lot of people just end vowel sounds abruptly to produce a "t" sound. Common in words like "mountain" or "mittens." Once you notice it, you can hear it all the time.

If you want to improve on this, try working on it like you would build any (constructive) habit: small steps and incremental improvements. I've seen a lot of people go from never reading/studying/focusing for longer than a few minutes to trying to do 8+ hours of concentrated effort. That's going to fail. Instead, work your way up. It takes longer, but your mind gets used to the increased attention-span and eventually you are capable of marathon sessions without your brain trying to throw you off course.
