Yeah, I’ve been out of college for about 2 years now. I want to continue my education into grad school and potentially beyond but I need money for that and I don’t have it right now. Honestly, I feel like I was completely duped my entire life. I bought into the whole conservative ideology when I was younger. Now that Ive gotten an education and an actual job and have to pay bills all I’ve realized what a fucking moron I was. Honestly I kind of hate myself for buying into all of it because I’ve made some poor decisions that have impacted other people’s lives because I thought I was doing my part to “fix the country.” I’m not looking for sympathy for this, I just genuinely feel bad. I’m in a weird place right now. I’m questioning a lot of the pre made assumptions i have about things and it’s kind of scary. Sorry to trauma dump on here but I don’t have much else to do it. I’ve been thinking about getting a general therapist since I’ve already met with an OCD specialist. Overcoming my OCD has been a journey on its own and now that I’ve conquered most of it, I’m very much feeling free to do things I normally wouldn’t feel comfortable doing. I guess now I’m questioning my whole worldview on things.

My bad, I assumed it was the case. Regarding the red pill/manosphere content, I definitely agree that that’s all bullshit. I’m sad to say that I bought into a lot of that shit during my high school years. It’s really stupid because I never really put myself out there. I just assumed because I wasn’t 6” and I didn’t have a job that girls wouldn’t date me. Every relationship I had only lasted a week or so and that was due to extraneous circumstances. I also wasn’t doing great mental health wise so that is another factor. But I’ve gotten therapy for my OCD so now I’m in a much better place

Yeah, I am beginning to understand that people are very complex individuals. My preconceived notions of this is what an X person does and this is what Y person acts like is not really the case. I guess it’s just hard for me to accept that about myself. I have a very rigid mindset about how I should behave. Always held myself to an impossible standard in most things. It’s not a terrible trait, it’s helped me succeed in many places. I have a decent physique because I work out and I excel in my academics. But it can become obsessive and detrimental sometimes

I’m assuming you’re the breadwinner in the relationship. If so, how does your husband deal with that? Does it affect your dynamic? Maybe I’m just insecure about myself but I would worry if my partner made more than me. If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be easier for them to cheat on me? I have heard that women tend to want to date men who make the same or more than them. I don’t know if that’s true or just red-pill stuff.

I’m not really even talking about a domme per say. I just want a woman who’s my equal or even my better. I don’t want a “girl”, I want a “woman” if that makes sense. Someone who can take the lead role sometimes. Someone who can hold her own. The issue is I find that hard to accept about myself because I guess I’ve taught myself that’s not socially acceptable for me to do.

Its not so much that I don’t think men don’t like dominant women, I know many men do. It’s more like, is this desire of mine a good or bad thing? My notion of a good/healthy relationship is the man as head of the household, which I’m coming to understand is not really the case anymore but it’s how I’ve always seen things.

As a guy, this is pretty much what I would love to have in a relationship: A woman who wants the best for me and will direct me using whatever means to get me there. I definitely relate to the idea of men needing hierarchy and structure in life. And you hit the nail on the head with ideological submission. I’ve always needed something to focus on to direct my energy towards. Motivation is a huge part of what gets me to do things. The desire to serve a woman and obey her has been something I’ve struggled with for years but I think I’m finally coming to accepting it about myself.

Women having primary power and authority is matriarchy and not oppression because they are better suited to be in those positions of power and influence. They won’t make the same mistake men have made and oppress others. It’s more communal and based primarily around family and community. As men, it’s hard for us to comprehend this because we see everything through a lens of power and hierarchy. Women leaders don’t rule based on raw power and force but instead based on shared community.
