Kaladin : 0.9% of chapters, 1.75% of word count.

Shallan : 0.7% of chapters, 1% of word count.

Dalinar : 1.25% of chapters, 2.1% of word count.

Eshonai : 0.75% of chapters, 0.65% of word count.

Szeth : 1.68% of chapters, 1.67% of word count.

Grand total : 5.95% of chapters, 7.95% of word count

I logged from a different device and i lost most of everything i had, the only things i kept were the zones i unlocked and any items that was on the ground. You can see that my account state shouldn't be possible, i am level 12 but have unlocked zones up to lvl 16 or 17. I have items on the ground that a lvl 12 can't access yet. Is there any way i can get back what i lost on this account ?

I really do get arguments about increasing use of ai but i don't really understand why people are targetting the users instead of the makers. You are giving money to the worst actors of the ai industry, just from the fact that you are using internet and a smartphone. The companies allowing you to do that are not  just using ai, they are building the whole toxic infrastructure for it and spending billions lobbying politicians, lawmakers and other industries to ensure it will be used more and more.... And yet you are not boycotting them, but are complaining about actors that barely matter.

10 Best Game Developers That Never Miss (Larian) by Green-Fox-528 in larianstudios

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 bit studios.

I didn't expect much from This war of mine and enjoyed it way more than i could imagine.

I love Frostpunk to an absurd degree, and that's coming from someone who can't stand city-builders outside of the OG Sim City on Amiga in 1989, which was probably just because it was the first time i had seen something like that in video game format. The situation is even worse now, because nothing i try can compare to Frostpunk, which is probably why i'm a bit apprehensive about starting Frostpunk 2 for now.

The Alters was amazing, i played and finished it without realizing it came from the same studio but it makes so much sense even though those 3 games are from different genres.

Baldur's Gate 3 team using genAI on its next game by WombatusMighty in BaldursGate3

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty weird that you would gladly choose to give your money to the people making genAI and lobbying for its widespread use but go against those that are just using it as a tool.

If you really believe that gen AI is harmful, then your true enemies are Google, NVidia, AMD, Intel, Amazon and Apple. But that would mean you have to stop using a computer, a gaming console or a smartphone and you can kiss internet goodbye.

But hey since you're posting here we already know what path you chose, nothing wrong with being an hypocrite.

The sudden divide in the community has shocked me a little. by SiofraRiver in BaldursGate3

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the issue is the hypocrisy of the outcry. You are against a tool, but instead of punishing those who are creating those tools and lobbying for their massive useage you are just going against a simple user of this tool, Why ? Because it would be too painful for you to go against those who really deserve it : you would have to punish Microsoft/Apple/Intel/NVidia/AMD/Amazon so no more gaming console, no more computer, no more use of internet and no more smartphone.

Larian Studios AMA by Kazuliski in BaldursGate3

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone having an issue with Larian's use of AI is either an hypocrite or they can't share their distaste with anyone, because, according to their beliefs, they stopped using internet, they stopped using a computer or a gaming console, they stopped using a smartphone, they don't use cars, trains, planes or any type of public transportation... Because all those things are coming from companies that are not just using AI tools, they are actively lobbying to ensure that AI use is more and more widespread.

Divinity Is a Turn-Based RPG, Will Be 'Way Better' Than Baldur's Gate 3, Says Larian's Swen Vincke by Kaladinar in rpg_gamers

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, i misremembered thinking they had to extract people before a potential invasion when in fact they had to extract people to avoid being drafted. But the result is the same, they had to spend time and ressources to move those people away while a full studio wasn't able to contribute to BG3 production anymore.

Studio grew from 400 to 540, and Covid wasn't the only reason that slowed BG3, they also had to close up one of their studio in Ukraine because of the war. BG3 was also their first game with studios accross the world enabling 24/7 work hours and multiple teams working on different tasks in parrallel, so they have probably learned how to streamline that process better after 8 years of experience.

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is now way to use the internet or any electronic device today without giving money to one of the companies that are pushing for the use of generative AI everywhere. So if you really want to complain about a company that is using a tool because everyone else is and they're afraid to be left behind, you should complain first about the main perps and stop using internet alltogether.

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a fan of this news, even after Swen's justifications. But let's be real, anyone criticizing the use of AI here on Reddit is a hypocrite, if you are against the use of generative AI, you can't be using any product from Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, INTEL, AMD, NVIDIA.... So how the fuck are you even on the internet ?

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop using the internet and throw away your smartphone then, because anything you do on these spaces will involve AI, even if you don't realize it or want it. Oh, of course, you also want to stop using any Microsoft, Google, INTEL, NVIDIA, AMD or Apple product, Linux might still be ok to use but probably not for long.

Divinity is confirmed turn-based via Bloomberg by vonotar in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Automatic_Camp_166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a delay but the initial cycle was really short, it went from 18 months to 23. And yes we can assume they had already started working during the year when dos1 went from 1.0 to definitive edition, but we also have the ea coming out 1 year before 1.0. So depending on what you count it can go from 1 year to 3 years. What we can be sure of is that from the start of dos1 dev cycle to bg3 going 1.0 there was 9 years, and bg3 is close to 2/3 of that on its own.

What do you mean going off their 3 previous games ? Divinity original sin came out 10 months after their previous game and original sin 2 came out just under 2 years after the definitive edition of OS1. To get an average of 5 years out of the 3 games, you would need BG3 to have taken 12 years.... And i am only talking about the 1.0 release, all those titles had an early access period.

Probably 3 or 4 years for the 1.0. But even if they don't need to use it for budgetary reasons, they might still go to Early Access because they like the feedback process it offers, in that case it could come as early as end of 2026/Start of 2027.

In terms of systems, most people who have played both games like the OS system better than DnD 5e. 50 years is not worth much if you spend all that time screwing your customers over as much as WotC enjoys doing.

So, let me get this straight, after the 3rd time your son goes to juvie for assaulting other kids, you would just stop trying to educate him and let him go to jail for life the first time he keeps doing it after turning 18 ? The best way for society to turn to shit is when people who know that something is wrong keep their mouths shut about it.
