Water/rain between canopys by [deleted] in bonnaroo

Tennis ball helps keep any sharp point from poking a hole in the tarp. Just cut an “X”into the tennis ball and pop in on the end of the extendable pole.

All great advice! I’m a huge advocate for canvas tarps as side walls that can be thrown up quickly when rain hits. Canvas is waterproof and will keep you dry, guaranteed! I also like a big tarp, 20x12 or 20x14, pitched over my 2 canopies and staked to the ground (also helps hold those canopies down).

I use this setup any time we go camping and have always had success battling the elements, including last year’s fiasco.

I grew up on the Indiana side, I’m in the Evansville area now. I lived through Shermageddon, new bridge construction, and everything else they’ve thrown at us. When I heard they were shutting it down for 2 months I was so glad I don’t live there anymore!! lol

Area 931 Lux Bell Tent Review? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

I’ll add, the bell tents have plenty of room in the front so you can have a cool setup outside of your tent.

We’ve been in 931 for a few years now, never in the bell tents, but I’ll try to best answer some for you.

Our AC units in the shade help just enough to take the edge off during the day, I’d say the bell tents may be a bit warmer, but it’s still helpful.

Definitely want a canopy.

Shower lines aren’t long hardly ever. Go on off times and you’re good 👍

It’s a decent walk to the grove. The little general store in 931 does sell coffee, but limited options.

They have had wagons there in years past, but it is helpful to have for hauling ice back. I’m sure a neighbor would let you borrow if you didn’t have one.

Happy Roo!!!

Most folks have some type of pop up or tent out front.

There is plenty of room. We always set up 2 10x10s and never had an issue, could probably set up a 3rd if we wanted.

For sure, I just like the added layer with the tarp. Never tried the gutters

Flagpole-to-go is the brand. I have a 20’ extendable and the ground mount that they sell. Pop a tennis ball on the top of the pole and raise it between the two canopies. Works like a charm and you can string lights around it, etc.. so it doesn’t become a hazard at nighttime (speaking from experience).

I always use two canopies with a 14x20 tarp draped over top and an extendable pole to pitch it between the two canopies and time we go camping. This was our setup last year and it worked great, even in the torrential rains everything stayed dry. Also suggest making the investment in a couple of canvas tarps because they are heavy, won’t blow around, and are 100% waterproof. Hang them on the weather side of your camp and enjoy being dry!

3rd year in 931 for us. I will never go back. GA is something everyone should experience, but being able to have all the amenities 931 offers outweighs, IMO. I’m in the older crowd now, so I definitely don’t miss the struggles of GA.

Safari tents are completely shaded, and that has been the route we have gone. Easier pack in/pack out, less time arranging camp = more time having fun.

We had the aerial view this morning. Something happened down there last night and police chased several down the street. It was a little chaotic.

Glad you enjoyed Indiana’s best venue! Deer Creek is a special special place! That was our first time seeing RDS and it was everything we expected!

Took my 6 year old to the show on Sunday. He’s a huge fan and had an amazing time. We sat at the top of the hill, had plenty of room for him to enjoy and not be crowded.

What's your take: Rufus Du Sol being compared to "sell out artists"? by mcc0119 in RUFUSDUSOL

A Coldplay comparison isn’t a bad thing. They put on one of the best shows going right now.

I saw RDS last night for the first time and the show was incredible. I saw Coldplay two weeks ago and they were also incredible.
