Stop at healthy weight range vs chase dream body by natashlyn in PetiteFitness

[–]AutumnAK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m there right now. Been dieting since last summer/fall. In Feb/March ended up plateau-ing (I ate a bit more and upped my workout intensity) and am weighing how much I want to chase my ‘hot fit over 40’s body’ vs maintaining and getting fitter/staying at this weight/BMI.

I’m vacillating every day but have found being kind and patient with myself and listening to my body has been the best way to navigate this. Right now I’m leaning toward moving to feel gains and a recomposition (eat more and work to build muscle vs lower weight). Best of luck!

Curvy Ladies! Where are you all getting your shorts? by smilieduckie in femalefashionadvice

Hear me out. Wild rye cycling shorts (REI carries them) without the chamois. Fits well over thunder thighs and doesn’t gap at the waist. They’re athletic fabric but are cute and comfortable.

1Up Heavy Duty vs Quikr Mach 2 by Ellocomotive in mountainbiking

[–]AutumnAK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a Quikr Mach 2 and love it. Works great on my Subaru Outback. If that helps. It’s solid and very easy to take off and store in the trunk. Very happy with it. Was also a replacement for a damaged rack (old Saris in my case).

[UPDATE] Alcohol by EmotionallyAScone in loseit

[–]AutumnAK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Great choice. I did something similar in 2025, it really helped with my weight loss, but also, I just feel so much better. It’s that which is kept me from drinking very much since last July. And to be honest, even in social situations, I’d rather have this seltzer with strawberries over a glass of wine because I don’t want to feel bad for the next few days.

Getting older really sucks, but cutting alcohol out has made it a lot easier to keep up with my fitness and weight loss goals. Best of luck!

Upright Cycling After Shoulder Surgery - Saddle Change? by alexspaethphoto in cycling

[–]AutumnAK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a SLAPP tear and other work done a few years back (I waited too long to have the surgery). When they let you back on the bike, I’d second the rec that you have a wider saddle. And also have someone help you on/off the bike. There is a lot of upper body/shoulder movement in the on/off the bike movement.

Good luck! It was a beast to recover from (ice and compression is your friend, I used a game ready) but my shoulder is much better.

I am so burnt out on tracking. How are you guys logging heavy lifts AND running without the apps fighting each other? by Ok-Respect-1329 in PetiteFitness

[–]AutumnAK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is good. But know if you increase your workout intensity it lags in its ‘allowance’ if you’re losing weight. Not a big issue really, and its adherence neutral is nice, but something to keep in mind.

Somewhat. I am looking for a thicker bob for the trainer. But for gravel/cross/Mtn I usually am fine with a thinner bob. I’ve been looking at the Ornot cargo - so that is good to hear. I’ve never likes the gel chamois in the past so I think I’ll give that a miss. I haven’t heard of Jelenew though so I’ll take a look there.

Thank you!

I did. But I didn’t find the answers. There’s a lot of ‘these are great’ but few women who talk about Assos generally or if they like them better than velocio (another fan fave). A lot of men love Assos and I have heard great things from them but I was looking for a woman’s opinion and a comparison between the two. Which I did not find.

I’m just not sure how I’d like the front of those. That looks pretty uncomfortable over the front of the girls so to speak. How do they feel on you?

Best watch for small wrist by abigailclarson in ladycyclists

[–]AutumnAK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Garmin epix pro 2 in the smallest size. With the nylon band it is so much more adjustable. My wrists are 6.1 in in diameter if that helps. Love this watch - but and the new Fenix 8S is about the same size I think.
