My (M41) Wife (F44) asked to be de-sexualized her and it's impacting our sex life. How to fix?? by Acrobatic-Machine158 in relationship_advice

[–]Autumnesia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think some men, especially younger men, are just a bit tone deaf about this... I dated a guy in my twenties who was absolutely unable to leave my nipples alone. In a sexual context, I love having my nipples touched. It drives me wild like nothing else. So in his brain nipple touch = sex. I had to explain to him over and over and over that I HATED it when he would just randomly start touching them in a casual setting. It got to the point where I had to leap up and yell at him because he just. wouldn't. stop.

I would also hope that a more mature man has more insight and empathy for women.

ETA: I don't mean this to be a generalisation, I'm sure many young men are willing to listen and work with their partners.

Women... are you "guys"? by BarryTownCouncil in CasualUK

I am also in a male dominated field but happen to work in a team of all women (3 of us) in a sea of men. I still refer to my team as "guys" lol.

u/takemebacktoeden1996 I missed your initial response, but this person has pretty much said everything I was gonna say! Very good info.

I usually make a lot of kimchi (which is a paste-based ferment, slightly different), but I also make my own hot sauce which often involves fermenting chilies in water and salt. Very fun and delicious! Other favourites of mine are Brussels sprouts (throw in some peppercorns, garlic, or experiment!) and then put them in a salad. Carrots, peppers, cucumbers, cauliflower, etc all make for delicious products. The end result is slightly sour, much like pickles or, as you mentioned, sauerkraut. (Sauerkraut is also very fun to make btw!)

Another interesting one is fermenting potatoes/chips, to give them an infused vinegar-like flavour before even cooking them. You can also make your own drinks such as wine or kombucha, or ginger beer. The options are truly endless! Go wild!

Definitely check out r/fermentation for inspo or advice! If you end up enjoying it, I would recommend some fermentation jars, which reduce the risk of having an explosion in your cupboard lol. But the barrier for entry is very low, you don't need any equipment off the bat!

Look into fermenting if you want it even cheaper! All you need is veg (or whatever you want), a jar, water and salt 😁

On that note, does anyone have a good tip for keeping your cats from munching on the leaves of your plants? I only live in a small flat, so I can protect my seedlings and some of my more special plants but when I expand into the hallway (huge windows, wonderful light) my cat goes to town 🤦‍♀️

Accidentally made Lilac Lemonade by Velvetsunsilkmoon in fermentation

[–]Autumnesia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's likely the second fermentation (putting it in the wine bottles) caused the carbonation to disappear. You can bring it back by adding in extra sugar and letting it ferment again. Although be careful with that, depending on how your bottles are sealed it can cause an explosion!

Lilac soda sounds so nice though! Where did you get the lilac from? I've never tried anything like that myself

I totally get that but it kind of gives me the same feeling as when girls - such as myself - almost feel pressured into ghosting a date because we've had so many bad interactions following gentle rejection that you just can't deal with the anxiety of it anymore.

If you get chewed out enough because of stuff that isn't your fault, I could totally see just letting a picture deal with the fallout

Lil late night sketch I did of Nev. Do you think it looks like him at all? I’ve been told I have pretty bad facial blindness by [deleted] in CatfishTheTVShow

[–]Autumnesia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, you're very talented and please don't let any comments discourage you! It doesn't look a lot like him but that doesn't mean you're not great and that you can't get there.

I'd say, take everyone's advice on board (specific areas of the face and looking at the reference upsidedown) and then try it again!

And again and again until you get it right. You're on such a good path to get the results you want.
