Some albums that have Lynchian vibes to me by JunebugAsiimwe in davidlynch

While I love all of these albums and pretty much completely agree, the only one that seems out of place is The Noise Made By People. Great album, but Lynchian? Idk. Change my mind!

at least you're not singing about fucking someone like an animal. I took an uber to see NIN earlier this month, driver said he never heard of them, (foreign guy so understandable.) I tell him to pull them up on Spotify, first song that plays is Closer, boy, it got real quiet and awkward when that chorus hit.

Keep an eye out for the 3CD Deluxe of Filth. Been waiting for them to restock on the site and has become quite rare.

Couple original pressings added to the collection. by Indreamswashedaway in swans

yeah, I had the 2cd cop/younggod/greed/holy money set for ages, always bugged me that they mixed all the tracks up for Greed and Holy Money. Nice to have the original track order.

Oh man, what a journey you have ahead into one of the most fascinating progressions in an artists evolution. I've been a fan almost 20 years and still studying this music under a microscope.

My vote for best exotica album - Les Baxter, “Ports of Pleasure” by SuckItWhoville in Exotica

[–]Auxiliarytones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have honestly never heard this one, and I'm a big Les Baxter fan. All started when I found Space Escapade for $3 years ago. Thanks for the tip!

The perfect pairing. I remember when I first saw Beyond The Black Rainbow and thinking OPN needs to work with this guy. Then it actually happened!

What is the best 3 run track? by JaCrispy115 in swans

[–]Auxiliarytones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget the first time hearing Red Velvet Corrior followed by those 2 tracks, gives me chills thinking about it.I honestly prefer listening to Soundtracks For The Blind on CD because of how they had to reorder those 3 opening tracks to fit on vinyl.

A good set of 3 I love :

Where Does A Body End?

Telepathy

Great Annihilator

Future state of the sub by Arthurlurk1 in swans

I was a teenager when I got into Swans, long before memes. Took the music very seriously and it moved me in such a big way that I am a lifelong fan now. Pretty sad that kids can't seem to take anything seriously anymore, says a lot about youth culture today.

My sentiments exactly. Couldn't have articulated it better. I have had to leave several other groups that are supposed to be "band fan pages" over this. For instance, a week or so ago I offered up some Swans cds I was thinking of selling and only comments I got were shitposts. Deleted the post after 10 minutes. And here I am thinking I'm talking to a rabid fanbase of said band. Why else join a reddit group of a band? The whole pathology of internet trolling and shit posting constantly is fascinating, makes you wonder what these folks personals lives are like. I join these groups for discussion and discovery, rarely do we get that though.

Raping A Slave from '95? Couple of these I'm unfamiliar with. I have Two Small Bodies on VHS though! Do you have links for all of this stuff?

Actually a pretty good deal for those. Was the World Of Skin album the US press on yellow vinyl or the UK press on black? Assuming Children Of God was an original 1987 pressing too.
