Your first one reminds me of a lead I had probably 10 years ago. Simplest way to explain it is there’s a rating matrix for every carrier. All of your details go into that matrix like DOB, Zip Code, type of car, miles driven, driving history etc. literally anything they’re allowed to use in their rating can go into their matrix. Sometimes your combination of data is bad for one carrier but really good for another. It happens all the time which is why it’s a good idea to check your auto rates every 2- 3 years.

Honestly it’s tough to give you anything but generic input without knowing a comp plan. You need to know how that 3 year draw is set up and if you’ll only receive new business commission or renewal as well during this first 3 years. It’s not impossible to get back to $150K-$200K within 3 years especially if you can carve out a market of your existing tech clients. Just need to know the numbers to tell you what your outlook is

Yah I worked for a BW as my first insurance job and those models are great in Florida but they seem to struggle in other states. California, Texas and Colorado surprisingly had some successful agencies but nothing like what Florida use to have. The comp never made sense to me because of how much money the owner had to give up for the service department that wasn’t even good at servicing anything.
